After years, I was once again on the Rigi. It was, as always, wonderfully beautiful. For me, it is a given to walk down the path to Weggis.
Travel was multi step but straight forward. Boat to train, train to peak, train to spa, spend hours at spa, gondola to weggis and then boat back. Just watch the time! Bring a towel and swimsuit. We went with our 17 year old son and 20 year old daughter. Everyone loved it. Breathtakingly beautiful. Clean! So indulgent! I will never forget it!
So easy and you can travel at your own pace. Scenery is spectacular and the spa was a great way to end the hike and relax.
Super spectacular, an incredible landscape, excellent transportation, and the spa was amazing, a perfect place to relax.

This was a great tour for our first full day in the country having arrived after a long day of travel the day before. It rained a little on the boat ride over, but after that it was a smooth ride and then easy transition to the cog wheel train in Vitznau. The sites were breathtaking. Once up on Rigi Kulm, we walked around for awhile, went up on the tower too. We headed down towards Rigi Kaldbad and got there just in time before a storm came. Unfortunately that limited the pool access at the spa but we made the best of it and the service was great. We decided to take the Cable car down to Weggis and then waited a short time till the ferry returned.
It was easy to find the pick up location. The boat ride is beautiful and calm. The ride up the mountain was also so beautiful. At the top, you can see the Alps and the cities below. Well worth the time.
Great activity definately do again, boat to Vitznau very relaxing than train up the mountain (postcards photos), definately walk back to Mineral baths and than laze in pools, a perfect activity
Hello cassandracG2143YS Thank you so much for sharing this lovely review — it sounds like you had an absolutely wonderful day. The boat ride to Vitznau is indeed incredibly relaxing, and pairing it with the mountain trip and those postcard‑worthy views makes the experience even more special. Walking back to the mineral baths and unwinding in the pools is such a perfect way to round it all off. I’m really glad to hear you enjoyed the activity so much. Moments like these stay with you. We’d be delighted to welcome you again whenever you’re ready for your next lakeside adventure. Kind regards Yvonne Guest-Service
Great tour! Took all of the confusion/hassle out of the logsitics by purchasing this pass! It was a great trip and everything went very smoothly!
The boatride from Lucerne to Vitznau was very scenic. From there we took the mountain train up to Mt. Rigi. The views were fantastic & provided ample opportunity to take GREAT photos while touring the mountain top. Next, we descended partway back down to Kaltbad, where we had a terrific lunch at restaurant Alpina - traditional Swiss dish rosti. We also got some barley w/herbs soup. Both were super delicious. We think this is the only actual restaurant there, other than a grab-n-go. Next we spent about one hour at the Kaltbad spa., lounging in the warm pools. Just be advised that cameras & phones are not allowed in the spa areas, so don't think you can take a picture of the mountains from the pool like you see in the advertisements. That was a bit of a letdown for us. Finally we made back down for the boatride back to Lucerne. Be advised, as of this review the boat dock at Weggis was under construction, so we needed to take a bus from Weggis to Hertenstein to catch the boat back to Lucerne. I was disappointed that Viator did not update us on this issue. The only way I found out about it was by talking to the boat's ticket checker during our ride to Vitznau. I was actually asking her about return times to Lucerne & she was kind enough to advise us that we'd need to board the boat at Hertenstein (or make our way back to Vitznau, which was further away when we come down off the mountain). We ran into some other Americans while heading down the mountain & they had no idea that Weggis was closed. I firmly that they may have missed the boat ride back to Lucerne had they not ran into us. As this was our first excursion, I'd say the biggest hurdle was understanding (and planning around) the various schedules (boat, train, bus). I can see scenarios where someone could get stuck out there and have to spend the night in a hotel if they're not savvy about the timelines and how they all interplay. Nonetheless it was a really enjoyable excursion & well worth your time.
Absolutely loved the experience. Worth every penny. I will say that there needs to be a bit more details provided with the transit. We got off the cogwheel and had no idea where how to get to the boat. Which was extra problematic since I was with my mom who uses a cane so us traces up and downhill searching for where to go was pretty bad. We barely made the last ride back. All in all great time but there is room for small improvements.
