Toledo kallas "staden för de tre kulturerna", eftersom kristna, muslimer och judar bodde tillsammans. Under XVI-talet var det också bostad för den stora målaren El Greco. Denna Mudéjar-konstruktion byggdes år 1180. Den har fem navar åtskilda av pelare som stöder hästskobågar. På 1500-talet omvandlades det till en kyrka, men idag är det bara ett monument som är öppet för besökare. Det har ett täckt trätak, Plateresque altare och en altarpiece av skolan Berruguete.
Församlingskyrkan måste ha grundats efter kristen rekonvista av staden av Alfonso VI år 1085, eftersom den första nyheten vi har om dess existens är från 1142. Från den första mudejarbyggnaden har den hållit den stora multifoilbågen överlagd på huvudbågen som skiljer huvudkärnan från presbyteriet tillsammans med de starka stöttorna i den här delen av skottkärlet och en liten skovlbåge på en tegelfris som är anordnad i mudejarstil som överlever i den höga delen i det som brukade vara den halvcirkelformiga fristaden i original singelkyrkan.

Det är idag platsen för stadens armémuseum. Dess konstruktion är från romerska tider. Under regeringarna Alfonso VI och Alfonso X 'The Wise' byggdes det och blev det första exemplet på en fyrkantig fästning med torn på hörnen. Det byggdes återigen under kejsar Charles V, vid detta tillfälle av arkitekten Alonso de Covarrubias. The tour company overbooked. We were the last two standing with one seat left on the bus. After 30 confusing minutes they took a single rider off the bus and we boarded, sitting at opposite ends of the coach. Very poor organization and communication.

We had spent nights in Toledo before.Tour guide recommended that we do not do the Tourist Train, but to do her tour, so we paid 20 euros each extra to do so. Problem was we were constantly on the move with little time to take photos other than the designated stops. We felt rushed and we had no intention of having lunch, but we would not have had time anyway. I would call this a non stop whirlwind tour of Toledo, and would recommend seeing the Alcazar rather than the Synagogue, which was not really much to see. Also, the area where we were let loose for lunch was isolated with not many choices to eat.
Dear William, You bought our Toledo Full day on your own with a panoramic tour in the Tourist Train of Toledo. Given that you were already doing a bus panoramic tour with us, our guide gave you the option to upgrade your tour visiting 2 other monuments with the group, instead of doing the train panoramic tour, and you agreed with this. The 20 euros you paid was for the ticket to the cathedral with an inside guided tour. We are sorry that you regret to have made that choice and that you would have preferred to have enjoyed more free time on your own. The Synagogue you visited is a National Monument, and one of the highlights of the city. We agree with you that the Alcazar is also very interesting, specially for those people interested in the military history as it’s the Museum of the Army. Our tour stopped for lunch in an area with a few restaurants and shops for our travelers to choose the one they prefer. It’s great that you spent some nights in Toledo before.
