Halvdagstur till Sillustani från Puno

Det arkeologiska komplexet Sillustani (FUNERAL TOWERS) ligger vid högplatån omgiven av en magisk lagun som heter Umayo med fantastisk skönhet i den västra staden Puno. Sillustani är en av de viktigaste nekropoliserna i den andinska världen som är känd för sina gigantiska begravningstorn "CHULLPAS". Den berömda Chullpas är torn byggda i sten som användes av olika kulturer, bland annat collas och senare av inkor. Lizard chullpa står för att vara den högsta platsen, som når mer än 12 meter höjd. I närheten kan du se några waru waru, som är artificiella jordhögar som är utformade för att skydda grödor mot frost och översvämningar. Med lycka i Sillustani kan du också observera vilda svinar i indierna, fåglar som flamingor och andra vilda djur i de höga Andesna.

Plocka upp från ditt hotell kommer att vara klockan 14:00 med ut privat buss. Det tar cirka 45 minuter att komma till den arkeologiska platsen Sillustani. Här ser du Incan och Pre-Incan begravningsgravar. Efter att du också besöker Umayo Lagoon innan du återvänder till Puno. Du kommer att återvända till Puno vid ca 5:30 pm.

Lovely day with a terrific guide, Esteban. The site was beautiful and very interesting. Stops along the way offered great views of Puno and a visit at a local’s home where we learned about foods and culture.

Excellent half-term tour! The guide Alejandro made all the difference with his sympathy and knowledge. The route is great, passing through the Puma Mirador, visiting a local family and ending in the impressive ruins of Sillustani. The archaeological site is next to a wonderful lake, which brings a unique atmosphere of peace to the place. I highly recommend!

Bit of a rocky start as we were picked up on foot and then stood awkwardly on a corner for about 20 mins or more waiting to be picked up on a big bus - however the tour itself was really fun and super informative: we had an excellent guide who was full of info and gave a really thorough tour of the site.

Overall, the trip was very informative. Our group was bilingual so the group did the tour in Spanish in English. There are two things that I didn’t like. The first is that the tour went two hours past the time that it said that it was going to end, which made me late forother plans that I have that evening. The second is that when it started raining the tour guide ran off and left us behind. I wish that he would’ve waited for us.

Tour was very good and guide was knowledgeable and very helpful with my friend who was having some difficulties walking the steps.
This trip exceeded our expectations. Our guide spoke good English, was well informed and enthusiastic and provide lot of additional stories about the life of local people. We had a couple of small but interesting, genuine and engaging stops, especially a visit of a local farmer where we learned about their daily life, diet, and crop treatment (note the best prices for hand made souvenirs). The final stop at Silusstani and the visit of impressive burial towers (chullpas) is an absolute MUST when touring Puno. This is a treat for those interested to learn more about pre-Inca and Inca civilizations and those who would appreciate a stunning landscape for photographs. Absolutely worth it.
