Möt och hälsas av Alan Tours guide vid kajen och åk till den malariafria Addo Elephant National Park, bara 35 minuters bilresa från staden till södra ingången. Efter incheckning och en komfortpaus startar vi omedelbart spelupplevelsen i resfordonet. Parken är hem för nära 700 gratis roaming elefanter och ett brett utbud av vilda djur som Zebra, Warthog, Struts, den eleganta Kudu och många fler inklusive den traditionella BIG 5, Lion, Buffalo, Leopard, Rhino, den unika flyglösa Dung beetle och naturligtvis Elefanterna. När vi tar oss igenom parken från söder till norr stannar vi för en bekväm paus på picknickplatsen i parken och sträcker benen. Därefter fortsätter vi att resa norrut där vi njuter av en lätt lunch på parkrestaurangen innan vi återigen söderut, spelvisar hela vägen i denna anläggning i världsklass innan vi återvänder till Port Elizabeth och lämnar vid kajen i god tid för att gå ombord på ditt fartyg .

Since the cruise was cancelled by TUI 1 month earlier, we had to cancel the trip. Unlike other shore excursion providers, however, the terms and conditions are not designed for non-docking of the ship. Therefore, the booking cost us 50% of the excursion price. If a ship cannot dock because of the weather conditions, 100% are gone. In the future we will read the terms and conditions better. The trip itself was a recommendation and would certainly have been nice.

Ich möchte jedoch darauf hinweisen, dass wir unsere Gäste bei jeder Buchung bitten, unsere Allgemeinen Geschäftsbedingungen, hier Terms and Conditions genannt, zu lesen, insbesondere, wenn es um die Buchung von Landausflügen ab den Kreuzfahrtschiffen geht. Einen Link zu diesen AGB hast du auch mit deiner Rechnung bekommen, Wir bemühen uns tatsächlich sehr, unsere AGB in Bezug auf die geplanten Anläufe der Schiffe in Port Elizabeth oder anderen Häfen, in denen wir unsere Gäste abholen, deutlich hervorzuheben. Während der Covid-Pandemie gab es Passagiere, denen wir Rückerstattungen gewährt hatten, die diese akzeptierten und dennoch zusaetzlich Ansprüche entweder beim Schiff oder bei ihrer Reiseversicherung geltend machten. In dieser Zeit erfuhren wir, dass die Versicherungsgesellschaft nun lediglich verlangt, dass wir dem Kunden ein Schreiben zukommen lassen, in dem wir bestätigen, dass er keine Rückerstattung von uns erhalten hat und die Kosten für die Tour beim Kreuzfahrtschiff oder bei der Reiseversicherung geltend machen kann. Dies wurde uns von Passagieren bestaetigt, Wie wir dir bereits ausführlich erläutert haben, bieten wir auch einen Gutschein ueber die von dir gezahlte Summe an. Der Gutschein kann auf verschiedene Weise eingelöst werden, ist auch uebertragbar und kann zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt, bis zu zwei Jahren, oder laenger, eingelöst werden. Den letzten Covid Gutschein haben wir im Februar 2026 eingelöst, sieben Jahre nachdem er während der Pandemie-Monate an nun sehr zufriedene Gäste ausgestellt worden war. Wir hoffen, dass dies unsere Position verdeutlicht. Unser Guide war informativ und unser Jeep sehr bequem mit prima Aussicht, Besonders erwähnen möchte ich, dass Alan Tours unsere Anzahlung aus 2019 angerechnet hat. Damals hat uns Corona zweimal einen Strich durch die Rechnung gemacht und erst 2026 konnten wir unsere Safari-Tour antreten. Dieses Entgegenkommen ist nicht selbstverständlich und dafür sagen wir DANKE!
The tour to Addopark was an absolute highlight. Our guide was great, through his experience we even managed to see a lion family up close. Despite the closed car, we were completely enthusiastic.
Full day in the park, good lunch stop, saw lots of different animals. Our guide Graeme was very knowledgeable, pointing out lots of interesting plants and birds not just the land animals. Would thoroughly recommend this tour which we thought was good value for money.
An amazing full day trip to Addo Elephant Park! Anthony our guide for a party of 5, was so knowledgeable and patient. The lunch in Main Camp restaurant was fabulous. Saw so many different animals but too hot for the lions to be visible.
The guide responded to the individual needs of the group and we even saw the lions.
Although titled the Addo Elephant park, this was a game drive with all the usual animals - but the elephants were the star attractions. We got very close to numerous elephants and saw some interesting interactions between a couple of males and lovely baby elephants. Ostrich, kudu, heartbeat, impala, jackal, zebra and warthogs (pumbaa) to name just a few of our sightings.
We were on a cruise with Mein Schiff and visited Gqeberha (Port Elisabeth). Beforehand we had contact with Alan Tours to make a safari tour. We were picked up at the port and our group had Graham as a guide. After more than an hour we arrived at the Addo Elephant Park. The formalities were taken care of and our safari started. We have seen wild boar, all kinds of birds, zebras and of course large groups of elephants. The layout of the car was top notch. Everyone had their own window, with the possibility to leave the glass down. The guide was in constant contact with his colleagues so that the sight spots of animals were transmitted. As a result, we went to places in a targeted way and also took the time to see the animals for a long time. Despite the fact that we also searched for a time and unfortunately the animals did not let themselves be looked at, this was a perfect tour. We want to see animals in their own environment and once animals are not controlled by human schedules. Great.

We had an incredible experience at the park with our guide Jaco who was amazing and super knowledgeable about the park and the animals. We highly recommend him for your tours of this park. He offered to stay on the tour with us as long as we liked. We were never rushed. He also took great photographs which he eagerly shared with us. Mike and Ester Hurlburt

Our visit to Addo Elephant National Park was absolutely amazing! We saw so many incredible animals and had such a friendly group, which made the experience even better. Anthony was fantastic — his knowledge and passion for wildlife were truly inspiring. It was a unique, once-in-a-lifetime day, and I can’t recommend it enough. As you said, we were a nice and friendly group of people. We saw elephants of all sizes with some even having some fun in the water, zebra, kudu and shy bushbuck all made for great sightings.
