Earlier this month (May 3), we went on this wonderful tour with Shinji Nishimura. He was an incredible host - so personable and thoughtful - taking us to terrific restaurants in Shibuya and sharing amazing food. He also took the time to educate us about Japanese restaurant culture and the language. It definitely was one of the highlights of our trip to Japan and we highly recommend the experience. Thank you, Shinji-san!
We had an amazing time Shinji-San! From the amazing restaraunts he took us to, to the personalized experience he offered, this was by far of the best food/drink tours that I have ever been on! If you are looking for a memorable experience please take this tour! We already miss the fun we had we Shinji-San!
Shinji is an amazing guide! I was lucky that the tour I booked became a private tour with just me and him. Really got to enjoy it because we had all the time to ourselves. Awesome recommendations on the food and very accommodating with my requests and questions. Also, it felt more like I was hanging out with an old friend. I really enjoyed it!
Fantastic! Shinji-San is a force of nature and a great representative of Japan. His knowledge, experience and enthusiasm made our Shibuya food tour fantastic. We liked him so much we booked him for a day tour of Mt Fuji. A really nice person who cares.
What an amazing experience!! Shinji-san is a wonderful tour guide with exceptional knowledge and a great personality. I truly enjoyed his detailed explanations throughout the tour. Though I thoroughly enjoyed every restaurant, the highlight for me was definitely the standing sushi bar. The Master chef was so kind, patient and accommodating and the sushi was so fresh and super delicious (cho oishi)!! Bonuses of the tour were learning many Japanese words/phrases and being able to explore the Shibuya area without feeling overwhelmed. It being an all you can eat and drink tour certainly doesn’t hurt either. I highly recommend this tour to anyone considering it. Arigato sugoi Shinji-san!!
Shinji was the best guide we could have had. Shinji went above and beyond our expectations. He was interesting, knowledgeable, funny and informative. The food places were the best Japanese cuisine we had during our 14 days in Japan. He taught us important Japanese phrases. Clearly he had great relationships with everyone. Shinji adjusted our tour to our circumstances and provided one of the best food tours we’ve been on (and we do food tours everywhere we visit). Highly recommend Shinji for any tour! Our only regret is that we didn’t have more time with him.
Shinji is an amazing and educational guide. He will take you to multiple spots with so much to eat and drink while sharing useful Japanese phrases. You will be full and probably have to tell him to stop ordering so pace yourself. Some of the food and drinks that were especially delicious or unique were the fresh pineapple highball and the sparkling sake. The standing sushi place was really fresh and high quality. If you like liver like I do the yakitori place with the liver skewers and the liver over high quality japanese scrambled eggs were super delicious. I think this is a great tour for first timers to Japan or beginners since Shinji gives you so much useful local information on Japan. I had a great time even as a seasoned traveler to Japan. He was such a great guide and person to take me to find a Suica card which was really hard to find. He also invited us to his heavy metal dive bar that he owns which I recommend checking out. Thank you so much for a great tour Shinji!
Sooo much fun. Guides were both so friendly and fun and took us to excellent food and were so easy to be with. We had a great time and they are fantastic !
We had a great tour. When Shinj-san says “all you can eat and drink” he really means it. Had to beg him to stop ordering! Shinji is a great guide. Super friendly and knowledgeable. Goes above and beyond to answer questions to make sure you get the most out of your stay in Japan. Thanks Shinji-san.
Shinji-san was a fantastic guide, and this was a great introduction to our stay in Tokyo. Shinji-san had compiled a great list of three quintessential Japanese experiences and was a perfect guide through all of them - sharing cultural details and insider tips at each restaurant. He pushed our culinary boundaries at each stop and introduced us to new and different dishes we wouldn’t have tried otherwise. An unexpected highlight was the quick lesson in traditional Japanese and each of our names written in katakana. Perhaps most meaningful, I feel as though we have a friend in Shinji-san and hope to see him again soon.
