I participated in the 7day Inca Shaman School. It was professional and personal, each day a new ceremony experience at different locations was offered and explained well by Juan and Master Basilio. Well organised definitely worth the price and each minute of it. Definitely will return again.

I traveled alone to reconnect with my roots, like the Peruvian I am. I did a shamanic training organizing by John and guided by Master Basil. It was a very enriching experience and a great honor for me. The last night I experienced the Ceremony St. Peter, guided by John and very well attended by his beautiful family. Juan advertises himself as a “shaman” but this is not accurate. The “ceremony” was about 5 minutes at the start and end with 6 hours of staring at a fire in silence (because Juan doesn't know much English) between. My husband and I felt very sick and asked to be given a room to try to sleep it off and he refused until the “ceremony” was over. Juan made it clear that Wachuma does not induce vomiting but my husband and I were both vomited and I did not start feeling better for 7 hours after the nausea hit. I followed the cleanse diet that Juan suggested before the ceremony and this did not improve my experience. The sensations caused by the drug were nausea, anxiety, and a slight buzz. I did not have a spiritual experience in any way. Juan advertises guided meditations, saunas, and traditional Inca music but all we got were beach chairs by a camp fire while he blew 2 simple notes into a pan flute (which he clearly doesn’t know how to actually play) the whole night. Many of the photos that Juan uses in his trip advisor page, airbnb listing, and website are not of him or his space. We don’t want anyone else to have to go through what we went through. We would strongly suggest doing more research and participating in a wachuma ceremony through a more established, safe organization.

We had an amazing energy clearing. This is a truly special experience. Juan and his wife and daughter were so kind to us. The shamanic clearing was deep and profound, something we will always remember. We definitely recommend this activity it was one of the highlights of our trip to Peru!

Conduct with the guidance of Master Basil, a coca leaf reading followed by energy cleansing on lands loaded with history and energies of renewal. Thank you Basil for toasting and sharing so much ancestral wisdom and John for the accompaniment and kindness during the ceremony. I recommend participating in one of the ceremonies, to those who seek spiritual growth in a personalized, warm, caring environment and in connection with nature. This ceremony was a very memorable part of my vacation !! I enjoyed the healing ceremony and Master Shaman Basillio was incredible, as was his student/assistant who translated for us. They were punctual in pick up and got me back to my hotel safely after the ceremony was over. I did not know what to expect, but it was more than I expected for sure!

Summarizing the trip is difficult. I planned everything in advance to participate in 9 initiation ceremonies, without knowing much else. Juan appeared on my path and gently guided me to Master Bacilio. We visited sacred places, where Juan was an incredible guide, and performed ceremonies at those same sites. In the end, we had a Wachuma ceremony at Juan's house, where I met Meli and Zoa, a beautiful baby. I recommend this experience to all those interested in shamanism in Peru and to those seeking a spiritual initiation.
