Selvatura Park Hanging Bridge Tour i Monteverde

The facilities, trails and all components advertised matched exactly to the description, the place is beautifully maintained and highly recommend it.

An awesome experience to walk through the forest at the height of the trees, or even above. Also without seeing much of bigger animals.

We did the hanging bridges, canopy (zip lining) and sloth experience. Canopy tour was really good. A little waiting around due to the size of the group. The first 7 were seamless and then the last few once the staff caught up and overtook again. A little wait at the end. Ultimately a very good experience. Hanging bridges were nice, unfortunately we saw limited wildlife but to be amongst the trees was great. Sloth experience I wasn’t amazed by. Having seen some wild sloths earlier in the trip we had booked this with hope to see them slightly closer and clearer. Whilst our guide was very knowledgeable and they are all rescued which is amazing I would say perhaps try and see sloths in the wild On a different tour. The hot chocolate is amazing but I wouldn’t eat at the restaurant as it is very pricey. Overall a very good set up of activities and the shuttle was a huge help.

We were at the Sant’Elena reserve doing various activities, the hanging bridges, the sloth sanctuary and the butterfly house. The walk along the hanging bridges was very nice and relaxing, about 3.5 km long, it is completely paved and easy to do. However, it has the huge flaw that throughout the entire route there are no signs telling you how much is left until the end. Since the other tours leave every hour and not knowing how much is left, you start running so as not to miss the tour and you don't fully enjoy the walk. The two subsequent tours were guided, the guide explained many things to us such as why the sloths are there and we also saw them quite active and while they were eating. The butterfly house was wonderful, beautiful butterflies I had never seen before, and display cases not all the chrysalises that are hatching, never seen before. Here too the guide was super prepared and thorough. The shuttle for the return trip leaves every hour and takes a really long time since it stops at all the hotels; if you are by car, I recommend you go with that. A bit of a rough path but doable. Another not-so-great thing is that they make you sign a lot of waivers and try to sell you accident insurance, they just scare you for no reason.

All the staff is willing to help and provide excellent customer service. At the Canopy you can enjoy a glimpse of what Monteverde has to offer. The guides are always willing to help. Carlos Sequeira was the naturalist guide, he provided an excellent tour, my favorite part was the amphibians and the frog pond. 100% recommended.

Beautiful walk over suspension bridges. Bit of an American feeling at the entrance; they try to split all kinds of insurance in the stomach. Just don't fall down stairs. The sloths and butterfly tour were both really worth the money, while we are not necessarily naturalists. The guide of the butterfly tour was a nice young man who told calmly from passion without spinning a standard story. The guide of the sloths was a little less to follow but also enjoyed, we have seen no less than 5 sloths eating and exercising! The restaurant is pricey, 8 dollars for a (large) cake and soon 25 dollars for a meal, but the quality was good.

Relaxing experience for lovers of local flora. Guide was incredibly knowledgeable about local flora and fauna but trip itself is about the flora without many fauna sightings. It felt like a relaxing and gentle morning hike followed by a nice latte at the restaurant afterwards.

Amazing experience walking in the clouds. 8 hanging bridges in total. Sadly we didn’t see any wildlife apart from a couple of small birds at the end. Not sure if it was the weather, the day, the season or what. A little disappointing, although still lovely to be in the rain forest.

A spectacular, wonderful, essential tour if you are in Monteverde. It is a beauty to see the forest from the hanging bridges.

The hanging bridges tour is a great hike through the stunning and verdant cloud forest. While the trail is only 3km, it includes eight bridges, the largest of which is over 500 feet long. The bridges allow you to pass through the canopy and get wide views of the mountains. I'm glad we went in the afternoon, when the clouds rolled in; while we didn't see much wildlife, the misty views were unique and beautiful. Unfortunately the afternoon means rain, and a particularly strong storm rolled in during our trek. It made for wet, yet memorable experience. The trail is not very difficult, but there are some stairs, and of course it may not be for those who are afraid of heights. Be sure to bring good shoes and a thick rain coat.
