We did the 1-hour sailing tour here and it was the real highlight of our trip. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - huge shoutout to our young captain, Duy, for being a joy all throughout the tour. He took care of us very professionally, while also sprinkled in some insights about this beautiful place. The training centre provided us with all the necessary equipments for the sailing tour. Despite the heat of Southern Vietnam in April, the staff thoughtfully provided us long sleeve sailing compression shirts, waterproof bag, caps, and even appropriate footwear for the trip. You might have to contact them beforehand to see if the equipments are available for you to borrow. We also had the chance to chat with the owner, Julia, who’s just about the most lovely person in Mui Ne. Hearing her story and the journey behind the training centre gave us a much deeper appreciation for what they’ve created here. It’s clear how much heart, care, and intention she has poured into this place - a space for people to experience the sea in a meaningful way. Her warmth and passion really stayed with us, and it’s something we’ll remember long after our trip to Mui Ne comes to an end. If you’re looking for alternatives to jeep tours and generic activities around the area, I honestly cannot recommend trying a tour here enough.
Top notch experience! A gracious and welcoming staff, high quality boats and gear, excellent teaching and sail handling and fun location make Manta a 10/10 adventure. Phùng is a great captain, sailor and teacher- don’t miss this opportunity in Mũi Né, Vietnam!
Julia was very responsive when I surveyed the info online and she super patient and friendly when giving the lesson. I got a chance to be trained on the water with Phung and Bau, and they were awesome instructors! If you ever think of doing water sport in Mui ne, sailing at Manta should definitely be one of your top choices! Thank you so much and hope to see you guys again :)
It was wonderful to see you sailing so well in a short time and so cool you could take time out from work to visit us. Yes, we very much hope to see you again :))
I wholeheartedly recommend Manta. The training I had was as good as it gets with high quality equipment, competent coaches and an absolutely lovely owner. Real quality fun! Will keep coming back to master and perfect my sailing skills. 🤞 You can also try SUP there.
Thank you very much for your wonderful review and please excuse my silence. Great to hear you will be back to perfect your sailing skills! Look forward lots to seeing you when work allows. All the best
I highly recommend Manta for sailing training and meeting Julia and her very friendly and helpful staff. You’ll learn how to sail but much more: Julia is passionate, very involved about the environment, locals fishermen and also introduce on watersport to vietnamese children, always with a bunch of love. An experience you must live!
iiililiii thank you for your sweetest recommendation for MANTA!
Thanks to Julia and her team "The Beach Boys" who dedicate huge amounts of effort to make this centre work and keep it running - which must seem like an uphill struggle sometimes I'm sure! My girlfriend and I had a very happy stay here for a few days over the summer and enjoyed the sailing and being at their beautiful quiet part of the beach. Her idea to incorporate awareness of solutions for the pollution and the health of the sea and sea animals is excellent and inspiring! I'm sure all the school kids who pass through here learn and take something important home. That alone would be enough reason for you to visit! But this is not just charity! There is some nice accomodation to stay in and some excellent sailing and watersports equipment to rent and get tuition on. Probably still the best and only place you can get it in Vietnam! Try to contact them before you arrive (by phone better) to be sure that the centre is not busy with school projects (which I'm sure they'd take volunteer help for!?) or closed as many of the staff have families to look after and other work comitments too! We were lucky to be able to pop in during a quiet spell and it was lovely to spend time with Julia, chat about life and all sorts of things! Best wishes to MANTA Sailing Centre!
A real joy to meet you guys and have time to natter - appreciated all your advice - and hope life's well with you. BIG thanks for your kind words and understanding. *Since we saw you, here are MANTA's more recent short award winning videos - with students explaining how they help deliver the UN global goals: http:// bit.ly/EIS-2019, bit.ly/EIS-2018, bit.ly/AIS-2017. *A handful more opportunities to update you with when done and dusted. All the best to you too!
I’ve been to Manta several times and love the vibes. Although its right in the heart of Mũi Ne next to the local fishermen it’s actually away from the tourist strip so you feel like you’re in the real Vietnam. I’ve seen students getting lessons here and loved seeing how much fun the kids were having but as my partner can sail, after The Beach Boys did the necessary safety checks to make sure we could really sail (and not just think we could) we sailed out to see the fishing boats from the water. The boat was beautifully maintained so we had fun on the water and then returned to Manta to have a cold drink on the shore. Talking to the lovely owner Julia and her Vietnamese team was great. It’s obvious how much these guys enjoy working there and participating in everything Julia introduces to the area such as environmental cleanup’s and teaching local children how to swim. It’s not a fancy place (I always think of sailing being for the uber wealthy snobs) but just a wonderful place to spend a few hours. We live in the area so we will definitely be returning on a regular basis both for sailing and also to enjoy the company of all the Manta team.
Big thank you Nood75 for a wonderful MANTA review. Look forward to seeing you back at MANTA with your partner, if not before. All the best
Actually, we're windsurfers. But since it had too little wind for that and my friend has a few hours of sailing experience, we spontaneously rented a sailboat (RS Feva) for 1h (9,000 VND). This was incredibly straightforward and quick. The boats were in good condition and we received new life jackets and sailing gloves. Since we claimed to have little experience, the very helpful coach Phong came out on the water with us to leave us alone after 2-3 turns. When we returned to the beach, we were received while still in the water and received fresh towels and warm tea. We had an hour of fun! The sail material was in good condition. Further facilities (shower, toilet, lockable chest) available in simple condition. The first sailing school (especially for children), which also educates about the consideration of the oceans, is certainly worth supporting. Especially since the waste problem/pollution of the seas in Mui Ne is unfortunately reality and unmissable.
Please excuse my silence with a big thank you for your kind review. We hope your sailing lessons have taken you to interesting places! All the best
Whilst in Mui Ne for traveling, we decided to try out a few water sports. My friend recommended Manta as one of his favorite places for having sailing training in Mui Ne. I fell in love with the vibe here, the meaningful projects (For children, Environment & The local) Julia and Nhat are working on, the amazing view, friendly and helpful staffs. And it's worth for money. After the trip, I can balance myself on a paddleboard, had a great experience with the coach (Mr.Phung) on a sail even it scared me cause of strong wind :)
Please excuse my silence with a big thank you for your kind review. We hope your paddle boarding has taken you to interesting places despite recent travel restrictions. All the best
We stayed here for a week and enjoyed a very relaxing vacation. Thank you Nhat for the lovely time. Hope to come back and stay there again.
Please excuse my silence with a big thank you for your kind review. We hope your sailing lessons have taken you to interesting places despite restrictions to travel. All the best
