Vi kommer att besöka en vacker UNESCO-plats som Sassi of Matera: SASSI representerar ett extraordinärt urbana ekosystem som kan fortsätta de mest avlägsna förhistoriska sätten att förflutna att leva i grottor upp till modernitet. Känd som "Underground City" är Matera känd för att vara en av de äldsta bebodda städerna i världen. Den 17 oktober 2014 förklarade Matera den europeiska kulturhuvudstaden för 2019.

Giorgio was in a word- super! He was so very knowledgeable and his love for the area shined through. We were a 3 generation family and he went out of his way to connect with us all, including our 14 year old grandson. He was warm and friendly and we learned so much more about Matera, as his explanations totally enriched our understanding of the region. We look forward to tour with him again on our next trip to Puglia!
Sara was our guide. She was excellent !! Sara had excellent energy was very knowledgeable and provided great history during the tour. You can tell she loved what she was doing. Sara is also from Matera so her insights were one of a kind. She is very proud of her heritage and it shows. Our tour was a week ago and my family is still talking about our time with her. If you go to Matera, this tour is a must-do !!
My wife and I were visiting Matera for the first time. We decided to book a private tour on day 1 to get familiar with the area. Turned out to be the best idea! We had an amazing tour with Grace who explained all the history and also took us to some of her favorite spots for views, food and more. We would have never found them on our own. Highly recommend!

His deep knowledge, passion and personal touch brought the city's remarkable history and transformation to life. George was an expert guide. He made us feel very welcome with his individual greetings and he set the historical context for the area prior to our very detailed exploration of Mattera. I can’t imagine exploring the area without a guide as there are just so many winding pathways and secret spots. We learnt so much not just about Mattera but also Italian culture of the region. Matera is a beautiful place to visit, we did so in June 2025 with a family of five. Giorgio was a great guide and showed us not just the touristy parts but also some nice hidden gems. Highly recommended!
To be clear we didn’t complete our tour with Giorgio due to unexpected family circumstances. What he did provide was exceptional customer service finding us another tour guide at short notice and other options. I would recommend the tour based on our interaction. Thank you Giorgio.
Our tour guide Giorgio was excellent. The tour was very interesting, our guide had a lot of knowledge. He was very personable, knowledgeable and tailored it to what we were interested in. It was like having a friend show you around. We did a 3 hour private tour of Matera. Highly recommend this tour and guide. Toured with our two children.
