Vi tar en promenad genom den pulserande Central Market, smakar lokal glass, denna glassbutik är över 100 år gammal. Att se olika platser Katedralen, Nationalteatern, de vackra Centrala och Morazan parkerna kommer att hjälpa dig att lära känna landet och dess rika historia och från denna erfarenhet, kommer du att ha en annan sinne smak för att komma mer i samklang med San Jose. För slutet besök Mr Sloth Coffee Shop där du hittar gourmetkaffe och choklad, på denna speciella plats provsmaka och lära sig att förbereda Cafe Chorreado, njuta av kaffeprovning, traditionell caldosa, tamal tillagad av lokala familjer och insvept i ett bananblad, göra din egen plantain empanadas med ost, prova vår berömda Agua de Sapo göra med ingefära, sockerrör och citron.

Vi börjar vid Monumento de los Presentes, där vi introducerar turnén genom att diskutera hur staden och dess kultur har uthärdat genom många förändringar. Vi kommer att besöka den historiska katedralen San José, vars ursprung går tillbaka till 1788. Katedralen, byggd i romansk stil, har vackra arkitektoniska detaljer och en lugn atmosfär. När vi utforskar kommer du att lära dig om kyrkans betydelse för Costa Ricas religiösa och kulturella utveckling, såväl som berättelserna som är inbäddade inom dess väggar.

Vi kommer att besöka Mr. Sloth Coffee Shop och bege oss upp till andra våningen, där du kommer att njuta av en hemlagad måltid med tamales gjorda av antika koloniala recept, kärleksfullt tillagade av en lokal familj. Du kommer också att ha chansen att smaka på unika rätter som banan ceviche, Guanacastecan ceviche eller pejibaye ceviche - autentisk förspansk mat. Upplevelsen fortsätter med en praktisk matlagningskurs, där du lär dig hur man gör hantverksmässiga choklad-empanadas, allt medan du njuter av specialkaffe bryggt i traditionella vandoler.
Framför Mr Sloth Coffee, kan du hitta två vackra parker: Morazán Park, som har El Templo de la Música, och Spain Park. Dessutom är Barrio Escalante området bara en 10 - minuters promenad bort.

Great walking tour to experience, the culture, food, history, and people of Costa Rica. Marcello was an excellent guide.
We had a fantastic time with Marcelo on this tour. Tried several exotic (to me!) fruits at the farmers market and he was so informative about origins and history. The walking portion past several National monuments was interesting. We ended at Mr Sloth with local dishes and coffee. Exceeded my expectations. A great way to spend the morning.

It’s a very insightful tour from seeing how everyday locals go about their day to day lives. Seeing the markets, cathedral and theatre are very nice. Also learning about the fruits and coffee. 👍🏾

Wear comfortable shoes since you are literally walking or standing for almost the entire tour. Our tour guide Angel was excellent-he was upbeat, friendly, inclusive & had a positive vibe & energy about him. He is very proud of his country & was happy to share its history as well as answer questions. His biggest flex in my opinion was his hand hygiene-especially important because he was cutting up & serving all of the delicious fruits to us. I told him I was going to specifically mention that because of my healthcare background & we all talked about it-so A+ to Angel!!

I originally thought the experience would include more food stops and less history but I feel like the foods were sufficient and the walking tour with all of the stories and history was absolutely delightful! Truly enjoyed the experience!
