Thank you for the thoughtful and considerate guided tour and interaction. From the very beginning, picking up ingredients for plov and fried dumplings at the market—to arriving at the beautiful house, everything was wonderfully arranged. Everyone in the house was incredibly hospitable and kind, and the children riding their bicycles were especially cute. During the process of making plov and fried dumplings, we not only learned detailed recipes and enjoyed a delicious dinner together, but also shared meaningful conversations with a local Uzbek Muslim family. It was truly a precious experience to spend half a day getting to know and connect with them. The afternoon we spent cooking, dining, and chatting together will always remain a wonderful memory. I wish you the very best of luck in pursuing your dream of meeting more people and exploring more countries around the world. I believe your attentive and thoughtful attitude will take you far. Good luck!
I had a fantastic experience on this cooking class in Samarkand. It ended up being a private class, which made it feel really special and personal from start to finish. We began with a visit to a local market to buy fresh ingredients, which I loved—it was such a great way to see everyday life and added so much to the experience. Then we travelled to the chef’s home, where I was warmly welcomed by her family. Cooking in a real home setting, rather than a studio, made it feel very authentic. We made traditional dishes including plov and samsa, and I was able to get properly involved in the preparation. Everything was explained clearly and at a relaxed pace, so it never felt rushed or intimidating. What really made this experience stand out was the insight into Uzbek culture and family life. I had some really interesting conversations with my guide, which gave me a deeper understanding of the country beyond just the food. It was a unique, genuine experience and something I’d highly recommend to anyone visiting Samarkand who wants more than just sightseeing.
