Beskrivning

Must-see attractions

With Eddie Tour (reviewed) and which I highly recommend, we did this second stop. From my downtown hotel, we are 100 km away to reach the destination. Considering the traffic, if it goes well, it takes at least 2 hours to go, in fact under normal conditions. Once you have made your ticket, you get on one of the minibuses available, with about 12/14 seats and leave for the mine. The arrival point is 200 meters underground, so it will take 7 minutes to get there, with the bus not even going so slowly, quite the contrary. Arrived you enter after a few meters you are in front of a unique beauty. The landslides of the time, varied the color of the walls, which as seen in the picture, makes multiple. With 50 meters high, despite being underground the cellphones take very well, you breathe a special air (they bring people here even sick) and beneficial and there is a fairly pleasant temperature (in my case 12 degrees, outside 23 that day, with the sun). The obligatory route will make you see different things, such as history, training and as you go deeper, you will notice many other details. Inside there are, board games, inflatables, virtual reality, a bar, a emporium and so on. The stillness you breathe is palpable and is a real sight for the eyes. The ride was relaxing and there was the opportunity to relax on some sofas with large pillows at the beginning of the route. What about, an experience to try once in a lifetime.

Terrific day trip from Bucharest (except for the traffic jams).

Slanic salt mine is around 100 kilometres north of Bucharest which took just under 2.5 hours due to traffic jams and one 'comfort stop'. Naturally, there were traffic jams both coming and going - 'the Government will finish the new road ONE day - no set date'. Once at the site, we boarded a ‘mine’ bus and were taken underground to 208 metres below the surface – it took 7 and ½ minutes to get there from the car park. HUGE caverns have been dug out of the salt – amazing patterns and salt ‘waterfalls’ along with a souvenir shop, kids games, dodgem cars etc – all with a constant temperature of 12 degrees – quite pleasant. All very impressive. Caught the next bus back to the surface and had two Coke’s at the restaurant (credit card!) while waiting for the others to return. We left at 1:40 to come back with one ‘comfort’ stop & got back to the Grand Hotel Bucharest at 4:10 (2.5 hours for 100km with a quick stop & slow

Beautiful experience

It is 100 km north of Bucharest, in a beautiful hilly area. Travellers are accompanied to the salt mine by minibuses, through narrow tunnels, the route is very stimulating. You reach a depth of 208 m, where there is about 60/70% humidity; underneath you need to put a sweatshirt. The caves are really Amazing, very high and imposing wall with streaks of white / gray / black, which leave the visitor breathless for their beauty. It is interesting the cave where there are statues, always made of rooms representing Romanian historical figures and also the emperor Trajan. If you are in those parts, a visit is worth it 🥰

A work of art

Travelers must be accompanied to the mine with buses of a few people at a time, the route is very impressive and also exciting, you pass in the narrow tunnels, just to get the means through. There are 5 caves to visit, the walls are very high that make an impression of wonder and majesty, the colors of various shades give in turn, incredibly magical appearance. You go down to 208 meters deep with humidity of 70%, below you have to keep a sweatshirt on. The most interesting cave is where the various statues of Romanian historical figures are located. The mine is north of Bucharest 100 km.

Pahova Salt Mines and SERVE Winery, Chictura , Romania

A day with Petre today in our trip to the salt mine in Prahova and the SERVE Winery in Chictura, both in Romania was immensely satisfying. Petre's easy going nature and the knowledge of the places made our trip into an amazing experience. The seven hours with him brought out some interesting exchanges of knowledge and experience. I would highly recommend the services of Petre for those planning to visit Romania. We for sure plan to be back in Sep 2025 and will visit some other places which we missed out with Petre around. Thank you Petre. Stsy blessed.

A must-see attraction!

AMAZINGLY HUGE! The salt mine was nothing like I had expected because I had not seen any photos prior to visiting. They drive you deep into the mountain in a van. When you walk into the mine itself, you are free to roam around as long as you wish. It is a huge place with beautiful patterns in the salt walls and ceilings. There is a small gift shop (if they used their imaginations a bit more, there are a lot of items they could sell, but it is limited to mostly cooking seasonings. That is quite disappointing.),cafes, and lots of places for kids to play. It is quite different from any other salt mine that I have been in before. It is a very popular attraction and a must-see if you are in the area.

Very impressive but management not to my taste

The place is very untouristy. We only met local people. The mine is very impressive to look at but not managed as I imagined. They take you within 200 meters and then leave you there without any explanation or brochure to tell you the story. Inside there is a bar, a bathroom, ping pong tables, billiards, inflatables, a planetarium, all for a fee but in my opinion it has little to do with the mine. They created an underground amusement park. The fact remains, however, that the place is very suggestive

Unrealistic and Giant

I was really surprised these salt mines were built by humans. Giant area inside rocks 120m under the surface. Good place to walk, sport, rest. Fantastic atmosphere
