The staff was amazing! They went the extra mile to make sure all attendees were tended to. The food was excellent. The show was good but seemed a little short

Luau was in a conference room on a stage. Food was set up like a banquet, hall, buffet, and low quality. Don’t waste your money
Aloha, Mahalo for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry that your Feast and Fire Luau experience did not meet your expectations. We understand your disappointment with the event being held indoors. Due to Hawaiʻi's unpredictable weather and the extensive preparation required for our performers, production team, and guest seating, weather decisions must be made several hours before the event begins to ensure the safety of our guests and team members. We recognize that the indoor venue provides a much different atmosphere than our oceanfront setting, and we regret that it diminished your overall experience. We are also sorry to hear that our buffet offerings did not meet your expectations. Your comments regarding the food quality and presentation have been shared with our culinary and operations teams for review as we continually work to enhance the experience we provide. Thank you for your honest feedback. While we regret that we fell short during your visit, your comments help us identify opportunities for improvement, and we hope you will consider giving us another opportunity in the future. Mahalo
This Luau was planned by my daughter, bride to be, to celebrate her wedding the next day. Wanted family and friends to be together. That did not happen. From arrival things just started going from disappointing to rude and just the worst luau I have been to. First, the Luau was moved inside for a storm that never happened. The Luau ambiance decreased by 50% being indoors, I felt like I was in a school cafeteria . The person at check in was the on who had worked with our daughter and stated she had her whole group together at table 14. Arriving at the table there were 2 people, not apart of our group already seated. Another employee came by which I explained the situation, and his reply to me " so you want me to kick them off your table!" He was not joking and this was embarrassing, I replied that our group was to have the whole table. We realized at that time that we were short 4 seats for our group. Our daughter went back to the check in table to find get additional small table added for the needed 4 seats. She was told by the original lady helping her there was an additional tables, 9 and 10. Moved family members to Table 10, getting settled and the same worker who made the rude comment to me above, had our daughter in tears when he said that those tables were not included and they had to move. They move to the back, and ended up the last table to get food. What was upsetting, was seeing Table 9 empty all night, and the family that was at Table 10 left when they were done eating. Very poor organization and extremely poor customer service the way our group was treated by one of your employees. The only good part was our grandkids got to go on stage for the kids hula lesson, but that was with me telling them to just go up, since the hula gals asking for the kids only went to the front tables. The rest of the Hawaiian dances and entertainment was more on the level of a talent show performance, than professional Hawaiian / Pacific Island dancers. The last performance of the fire show, of course needed to be out side, but only the first people out got front row ( and didn't move) to see the show and we were in back and saw tops of the flames. Disappointed that an announcer didn't kindly ask the tall people to allow shorter people in front. To reference my point on your entertainment, and Luau, I have been to the Smith Family Luau in Kauai, they are the top of the line in all aspects of a Luau. Our son and his family traveling from Minnesota had been looking forward to their first Luau , and were so very disappointed in the whole experience. Our daughter looked at this negative and upsetting experience at your Luau, as an omen that her Wedding the next day at the Royal Kona Resort would be perfect, and it was!
Aloha, Mahalo for taking the time to provide such a detailed account of your experience. We are truly sorry that what was intended to be a special pre-wedding celebration for your daughter, your family, and your friends did not reflect the memorable evening you had envisioned. We sincerely apologize for the confusion surrounding your group's seating arrangements and, more importantly, for the manner in which your family was spoken to. Every guest deserves to be treated with courtesy, respect, and genuine hospitality, especially when celebrating such an important life event. It is deeply concerning to learn that both you and your daughter felt embarrassed and upset, and we regret that this interaction overshadowed what should have been a joyful evening. We also understand your disappointment with the decision to move the luau indoors. Due to Hawaiʻi's unpredictable weather and the extensive preparation required for our performers, production team, and guest seating, weather decisions must be made several hours before the event begins to ensure the safety of our guests and team members. We recognize that the indoor venue cannot fully replicate the atmosphere of our oceanfront setting, and we appreciate your candid feedback regarding the ambiance, seating logistics, entertainment visibility, and overall organization. Your comments regarding the buffet sequence, children's participation, and the viewing experience during the fire performance have all been shared with our operations and entertainment leadership teams for careful review. While we are disappointed that your luau experience fell short, we genuinely wish the newlyweds a lifetime of happiness, health, and wonderful memories together. Thank you again for your honest feedback. It provides valuable insight as we continue working to improve the experience we deliver to every guest. We hope that, should your travels bring you back to Hawaiʻi, you will consider giving us another opportunity to provide the authentic and memorable luau experience we strive to offer. Mahalo.
The luau is on the lawn of the Outrigger hotel - it was a very nice evening and we had showers and saw a rainbow. As noted by others, not on the water. There was some activities beforehand like stamping and bowling - the drinks were good and the food was tasty. Wasn’t sure where the restrooms were? Had to go a long way into the hotel but maybe there were others not marked? The cats wandering around there isn’t anything they can do about I’m sure but those poor meow meows. The show was good - our first one so nothing to compare it to. Overall a relaxing evening, it was neat but for the cost/price we probably wouldn’t do it again. Mahalo.
Fantastic food and amazing show! Authentic and highly entertaining! Kids got so excited to see the flames and learn how to dance
The "luau" was moved inside because there was a chance of rain. I understand there must be a delicate balance of making it work, but it was horrible inside. It was a convention center, very brightly lit, a big buffet only, and it felt just like a bad cruise ship show. We decided to leave early and everyone we approached told us they were unable to validate parking and to go to the hotel, so we did and the hotel told us that the parking and the hotel were two separate entities and they were "unable" to validate either, so we paid $24 more dollars for that. I was so sad and disappointed. Suggestion would to be have it outside with the food and the entertainment under a tent, and allow patrons to decide if they want to risk the weather...because the atmosphere absolutely ruined any type of cultural fun or learning.
Aloha, Mahalo for taking the time to share your feedback. We are truly sorry to learn that your Feast and Fire Luau experience was disappointing and did not meet your expectations. We understand how important our oceanfront setting is to the overall experience. Due to Hawaiʻi's unpredictable weather and the extensive preparation required for our performers, production team, and guest seating, the decision to move indoors must be made several hours before the event begins to ensure the safety of our guests and team members. We recognize that when the weather ultimately improves, the indoor venue can feel very different from the authentic outdoor experience guests anticipate. We also sincerely apologize for the confusion surrounding parking validation and the frustration this caused. Your comments regarding the communication between the luau and hotel teams have been shared with our leadership for review so we can improve the consistency of information provided to our guests. We appreciate your thoughtful suggestion regarding outdoor weather accommodations and will share it with our operations team as we continue evaluating ways to enhance the experience during inclement weather. Thank you again for your honest feedback. We hope you will consider giving us another opportunity to provide the memorable oceanfront luau experience we strive to deliver. Mahalo.
This was a great experience for our anniversary dinner. We made postcards and orchid bracelets before the show, open bar, great food. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because once the show started, the buffet was never replenished. Its supposed to be all you can eat. Also, photos/videos were not allowed during the show. Umm I paid good money for this, I'd like to snap a few photos for my memory book.
Aloha, Mahalo for celebrating your anniversary with us at Feast and Fire Luau. We are honored you chose to spend such a special occasion with us and are delighted to hear you enjoyed the pre-show activities, open bar, and culinary offerings. We sincerely appreciate your constructive feedback regarding the buffet service. Our goal is for every guest to have the opportunity to enjoy our buffet throughout the dining period, and we are sorry to hear it was not replenished as expected once the show began. Your comments have been shared with our culinary and operations teams for review. We also understand your disappointment regarding our photography policy during the performance. The policy is intended to preserve the experience for all guests and support our performers, but we appreciate your perspective and will share your comments with our entertainment team as we continue to evaluate the overall guest experience. Thank you again for your thoughtful review. We appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you back for another memorable evening. Mahalo.
Food was good but not the best I have had.
Aloha, Mahalo for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear you had an enjoyable overall experience and that you found the food to be good. We also appreciate your honest comments regarding the culinary offerings. Guest feedback is invaluable as we continually evaluate our menus and preparation to enhance both quality and authenticity. Your comments will be shared with our culinary team as we strive to create an exceptional dining experience for every guest. Thank you for joining us at Feast and Fire Luau. We appreciate your support and hope to welcome you back for an even more memorable evening in the future. Mahalo.
The luau show was good and the food was very good. It rained on us which really dampened the mood of the crowd, making it tougher for the entertainment to get people excited and involved. Yes, it is clear they advertise "rain or shine" but for as much as people pay to attend this show, I cannot understand why this hotel venue doesn't have a better back-up plan than a dollar store clear plastic poncho. The price per person for general admission was rather expensive, and add another $30 per ticket for the option to cancel if you cannot attend before the deadline.
Aloha, Mahalo for taking the time to share your thoughtful feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the luau performance and the culinary offerings during your visit. We also appreciate your comments regarding the weather and understand how the rain impacted the atmosphere of the evening. While our luau is presented rain or shine, we recognize that weather conditions can affect the overall guest experience. Your feedback regarding our contingency planning and rain accommodations has been shared with our operations and leadership teams as we continually evaluate ways to enhance the experience for our guests. We also appreciate your comments regarding the overall value and optional cancellation protection. Guest feedback like yours helps us better understand expectations and identify opportunities for improvement. Thank you again for sharing your experience. We truly appreciate your feedback and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even more memorable evening under clearer Hawaiian skies. Mahalo.
