Amazing time touring the island with Joao. He was very knowledgeable and personable and spoke excellent english. He adjusted the tour to meet our preferences and we saw all the highlights and a few hidden gems. I would recommend this tour for anyone looking for a personalized experience with a great guide.
Our guide João provided us with a wonderful time during this day in the western part of the island of Sao Miguel. He adapted to our needs and requests, showed us the main highlights of this section of the island, and made excellent recommendations for restaurants during our stay. I highly recommend this guide and this tour. We were a group of 8 people and everyone loved it!
Carlos was our driver and guide for a great day! He was so happy and kind and very proud to share his knowledge of the island, Portugal, sites and more. We had such a great time with him. The weather was too great- but we didn’t care as he showed us great places, even took us to swim in the ocean thermal Pools. So great. I highly recommend

João picked us up directly from the hotel, and due to the weather, we decided together to go to the east of Sao Miguel - Vila Campo de Franco, Furnas, Terra Nostra with bathing, Cozido for lunch, Nordeste, tea plantation, and a few hidden spots. João has incredible knowledge about history, backgrounds, life, nature, plants, and animals… We learned and saw a lot. Thanks also for the restaurant tips for Mosteiros and Ponta Delgada - both were great meals… If you have time and want a good guide, book with João…

I never anticipated being exposed to so many aspects of the richness of geography, culture and gastronomy of Sao Miguel in the course of a day. Joo was a superlative guide and driver, sharing many aspects of his understandable love for his homeland. Although I am prone to motion sickness, Joo's driving through the hilly terrain was impeccable, allowing me to focus fully on the wonders around us. The day spent on this tour was the highlight of multiple stops on vacation. The experience provided by Joo really makes me want to return to the island for an extended experience.
Great day seeing the western portion of Azores with ample time for lunch at the beach. Really enjoy the adaptability of private tour.
