An absolute eye opener and a must do private tour, we knew the story and the history but to see it first hand and have our guide Anja guide us through it was very moving. 🙏
Anja was our tour guide, and she was absolutely brilliant. Extremely knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. The tour was very easy to navigate and went into great detail about Sachsenhausen and its history. Thank you for a fantastic and informative tour.
It was a great tour. Our tour guide Beny was very knowledgeable and gave great information about sachsenhausen. Beny seemed very passionate about the history he was sharing.
This tour is a window into the depths of human depravity during one of the darkest periods of recent history. Our guide, Irina, brought exceptional knowledge to our journey.
It is hard to know how you’ll feel and what you’ll be able to take in doing a tour like this, but our guide, Artie, truly made this meaningful day even more special and meaningful. I have been learning about the Holocaust for my whole life, but somehow Artie’s style made things stick in a way they haven’t before for me. He gives and excellent and concise history of how the Nazis came to power, how Sachsenhausen came to be where it is and what the townspeople thought about it, unapologetically discusses what German civilians saw and knew and when, allows the group to split off and take in more deeply what they need to when time allows, goes deep into the topics and behaviors that are so very difficult to believe and grasp without hesitation but also without drama. I believe he is as genuinely astonished and hit equally hard every time he tells people about the atrocities that happened there - like he still can’t believe it himself but wants to make sure you understand. Tells it like it was and is thoughtful and honest when questions are asked. I would highly recommend asking for him if you plan to take this tour (no slight to the other guides who may also be great - but he is terrific).
I was lucky enough to have Beny as my guide, and I couldn’t hope for better. He was able to tell with accuracy and sensitivity what happened in Sachsenhausen, mixing history, context and humanity. His way of transmitting, full of empathy and respect, makes the visit deeply touching. He takes the time to respond, listen, and allow everyone to truly understand and feel. It was a strong experience, made even more valuable by him. I am very grateful to have come across such a humane and passionate guide.
Beny was an excellent tour guide for my trip to the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. He was extremely knowledgeable and gave a great insight to the impact the camp had when it was functioning and the everlasting affects. He was able to answer any question we threw at him and ensured he spent time getting to know each and everyone in the group as well which made it a much more personal and fun experience. I would highly recommend this tour, especially Beny, to anyone wanting to learn more about the history of Berlin and Germany as a whole.
It was my first experience joined the local tour. Beny - the tour guide was quite knowledgeable and patiently explained the history.
Our guide - Beny - was knowledgeable and considerate. He rolled with the punches when our train to the camp was cancelled and when it started raining mid-tour. All-in-all it was an interesting and sobering look at Sachsenhausen.
Great experience on this tour. The guide was excellent about ensuring everyone had the correct train tickets, food, and physical needs met. She was incredibly knowledgeable and even helped suggest other activities in Berlin.
