Om du vill känna andedräkten från det forna Sovjetunionen, inbjuder vi dig att besöka Transnistrien. Det ska bli spännande och intressant. Denna region bildades efter kriget 1992 och är oberoende från Moldavien, även om den officiellt anses vara en del av Moldavien. Den har sin egen valuta, egen president och tre officiella språk. Vi kommer att besöka platser och byggnader från före detta Sovjetunionen. Du kommer att se Lenins monument, det majestätiska sovjethuset i stil med stalinism, fästningen Bendery från 1500-talet. Du kommer att besöka Sovjetunionens matsal, där många gamla sovjetiska saker samlas. Höjdpunkten på din resa kommer att vara ett besök på ett privat pensionat "Usadba Acasa" i en bulgarisk by Parcani, dit vi ska äta lunch. Lunch kommer att tillagas av omtänksamma värdar i de bästa nationella traditionerna. Här kommer du att smaka utsökt hemlagat vin och delta i en folkloreföreställning, bli bekant med lokalbefolkningens liv, nationella traditioner

Under vår utforskning kommer vi att ha möjlighet att besöka den historiska Bender-fästningen, som ligger på den östra stranden av floden Dniester i staden Bender. Denna fästning, som går tillbaka till 1500-talet, har ett betydande arkitektoniskt värde och står som ett bevis på stadens integration i det osmanska riket. Byggandet av detta anmärkningsvärda fäste började 1538, vilket markerade en viktig era i dess historia.
Memorial of Memory and Sorrow restes till minne av försvararna av den transnistriska staden Bendery, som dog under Transnistrien-konflikten 1992.
Vi åker med kollektivtrafik till huvudstaden i PMR, staden Tiraspol, byggd genom dekret av den ryska kejsarinnan Catherine II - för närvarande är det en modern stad, huvudstaden i en liten självständig stat. I centrala Tiraspol står fortfarande ett monument över Lenin.

Memorial of Glory är det viktigaste historiska och minnesmärke komplexet i staden Tiraspol, huvudstaden i Pridnestrovian Moldavien. Öppnade 1972. Deltagare i inbördeskriget, det stora fosterländska kriget, samt deltagare i försvaret av Transnistrien 1992 är begravda här.
Monument till V.I. Lenin - en symbol för den revolutionära och sovjetiska eran. Uppfört 1987. Beläget framför byggnaden av Högsta rådet och PMR:s regering.
The House of Sovjets är en av de centrala byggnaderna i Tiraspol, huvudstaden i Pridnestrovian Moldavien. Ett arkitektoniskt monument av den stalinistiska imperiets stil. Byggnaden huserar nu Tiraspols kommunfullmäktige.
Vi besöker ett stämningsfullt café "Stolovka Sovjetunionen", i sovjetisk stil.
Lunchen äger rum mellan 13-14 på ett pensionat i byn Parkany. För lunch 15 EUR/pers. Eller lunch är i den sovjetiska matsalen i Bendery.

This was one of the most interesting tours in a most unusual place, the country that apparently doesn't exist! Tatiana was a most knowledgeable and approachable guide and gave us many helpful tips. We visited all the main attractions in Tiraspol and also spent time in Bender after lunch at her parents house which included homemade wine and brandy! Would highly recommend visiting Pridnestrovie (Transnistria) for an authentic experience off the beaten track.

I recently took the tour to Pridnestrovie, and it turned out to be a really unique and memorable experience. The whole trip was very well organized, and the guide did an excellent job explaining the complex history and political background of the region in a way that was easy to understand and genuinely interesting. It’s not a place you can fully appreciate without context, and the tour really helped bring everything to life. What stood out most was how much culture there is packed into such a small and unusual territory, from Soviet-era monuments to local traditions that you wouldn’t encounter elsewhere. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this tour to anyone interested in history, geopolitics, or just visiting somewhere off the beaten path. It’s not your typical destination, which is exactly what makes it worth experiencing.

Excellent value, a must do for anyone with an interest in European history. Our guide Tatiana was very knowledgeable and friendly and the lunch and wine at her parent’s’ house was delicious. There is a lot of walking but everywhere we went was spotlessly clean, well-maintained and extremely safe. The only slight criticism is Tatiana’s English pronunciation (eg pronouncing “Latin” as “Lay-tan”, which confused a lot of people. Her vocabulary and grammar are great but her pronunciation is difficult to understand at times). But, only a minor issue…the whole trip was an amazing experience and value!

There were only three of us plus guide and driver. An absolute stroke of luck the two. It began with the Jedi first recognizing the Fuhrer. She couldn't get the cardboard with my name out of her purse. We had a wonderful day and how the later evening went, the singer's courtesy is silent. The Jedi must protect his new friends. ;-}
