Stavropoleos ortodoxa kloster ligger i centrala Bukarest och är en juvel av rumänsk arkitektur i Brâncoveanu-stil. Dess väggar, prydda med extraordinära fresker, berättar historier om ett förflutet rikt på andlighet och hängivenhet.
Detta lilla torg med djup historisk betydelse är bland de äldsta i Bukarest. Vi kommer att beundra viktiga byggnader inklusive kyrkan Sant'Antonio, ruinerna av det furstliga hovet och Manuc värdshuset, en av de sista karavanerhusen i Östeuropa.
Vi kommer att vandra på den välkända Strada Lipscani, som alltid har ansetts vara stadens bankande hjärta. En korsväg mellan historia, kultur och modernitet, idag representerar den det obestridda huvudkontoret för Bukarests nattliv.
Den vackra BNR-byggnaden inrymmer den rumänska centralbankens historiska högkvarter. Det står i hjärtat av den lokala ekonomin omgiven av vackra byggnader som framkallar charmen i Belle Époque.
Villacrosse-galleriet är en magisk plats som förtrollar varje besökare. Med en rik och varierad historia har den haft flera roller över tiden. Idag är det värd för eleganta barer perfekta för att fly den hårda vintern eller varma sommaren.
Calea victoriei är utan tvekan den vackraste och mest eleganta avenyn i Bukarest full av historiska byggnader, modebutiker och raffinerade bistroer. Vi kommer också att stanna vid den berömda "paraplygatan" för att ta ett minnesvärt gruppfoto.
Revolutionstorget, emblemet för slutet av Ceausescus diktatoriska regim, är överraskande för skönheten i de omgivande byggnaderna som det rumänska Athenaeum, det kungliga palatset och Nationalbiblioteket. Our guide was Filippo Di Cataldo person that I had already got to appreciate a few years ago on another tour. I can only reiterate that his professionalism and knowledge are excellent.
Our guide was Filippo Dicataldo, and he was very good at telling us the story of Bucharest and its monuments. It was just me and my cousin with Filippo, being few turned out to be a great thing, so you can interact better with the guide, unlike when you are in very large groups.
Philip arranged for us a day tour to Bran Castle, Brasov City and Peles Castle. We had a great time, he is an experienced guide, and the private tour is far better than the coach tours. We were able to make stops for the children during the trip and he also showed us a monastery that was not in the program. Highly recommended.
