Kör via 'Qara'-bergen. På en väg som successivt går i sicksack uppför en vertikal kulle, är det ofta flockar av kameler och boskap som upptäcks på vägen, vilket ger en pittoresk utsikt över en av Dhofari-miljöerna. Stanna och besök Wadi Doka i början av Najd (halvöken) distriktet 35 kilometer norr om Salalah mot Thumrait (beduinernas bosättning). Anländ till detta UNESCO-registrerade nationalreservat som innehåller 1230 fleråriga rökelseträd som täcker ett område på 5 km” och få en verklig upplevelse om detta värdefulla berömda träd. Utöver sin doftande lukt används rökelse också som ett hjälpmedel
Fortsätt till Thumrait Town för att ha några minuters förfriskningar och kan njuta av smaken av arabisk kopp kaffe (Qahwah) och datum (Tamer). Staden Thumrait har varit en viktig punkt i de gamla Frankincense handelsvägarna. Rör dig upp när du går till nästa stopp i den förlorade staden Ubar arkeologiska.
Besök den legendariska försvunna staden Ubar, som upptäcktes 1992 med hjälp av NASA-satelliter. Valfritt inträde är tillgängligt för 3 OMR per person (ingår inte i turnépriset). What a wonderful adventure into the Arabian Desert! Mohammed was the perfect guide as we toured first the Frankincense trees and he even brought me my own bag as a souvenir! The Desert trip is far but worth the journey! I highly recommend bringing a bottle of wine to watch the sunset. Photos were worth the trip.

Sunset in the desert is definitely a unique and unforgettable experience. But also the journey in the plateau that precedes and full of charm. The trip also includes some stops, all spectacular, in the Wadi, at the top of the mountains and sunset over the sea. A big difference in these days is the guide. HAMID was fantastic and was able to give us special moments, just in those less touristy and obvious things.

Spending a few hours on the desert dunes is priceless! From salalah there are about 2.5 hours by jeep but it is worth it! Thank you Hamid for letting us live this wonderful day
