Att sjunka ner under Rom är som att komma in i en parallell stad, osynlig för de flesta, gjord av tunnlar, tystnader och årtusenden gamla skiktningar som överraskar även dem som tror sig känna till huvudstaden. En 1,5 km lång rutt genom underjordiska tunnlar, stenbrott, katakomber, en svampodling och ett Mithraeum, för ett besök som varade i cirka 2 timmar och beskrevs som "oväntat" och "engagerande". Besökare kommer att korsa den vackra Caffarellaparken på en regenererande promenad på cirka 1 kilometer (drygt 800 meter) omgivet av naturen, där de kan finna en stund av lugn, långt från kaoset i den eviga staden.
Under Rom finns kilometervis med tunnlar grävda för att få tag på de material som behövdes för att bygga den kejserliga staden, som fortfarande svartsjukt vaktar över sina hemligheter. Sedan tar vi dig med för att upptäcka denna underjordiska värld vars väggar fortfarande bär spåren av mejslarna från de forntida slavarna som grävde denna plats, ofta i utbyte mot sina liv. Du kommer således att upptäcka ett forntida förflutet av ljus och skugga, där historien är skriven i varje rynka på väggarna, i varje skylt och i varje nisch. Sedan kommer vi att gå in i katakomberna där de första kristna begravde sina nära och kära i tunnlar som sträckte sig dussintals kilometer långa. Vi låter dig uppleva mörkret med en gammal romersk lampa och sedan når vi ruinerna av en svampodling från andra världskriget. Slutligen besöker du ett hedniskt tempel utgrävt i marken där du upptäcker hemligheterna bakom kristendomens spridning i antikens Rom.

In a group with friends, we were looking for a cool place to spend the afternoon together in Rome. Among the various options, we chose this visit to the labyrinth under the Caffarella park; it was a surprising discovery. The guide was very well-prepared and told many anecdotes that stimulated the pleasure of discovery and of learning more about underground Rome. Highly recommended, especially in a group. We also had 12-year-olds with us. Everything was exciting and, not least, at a perfect temperature on these muggy days. We will do other similar activities.

Sulle piattaforme come Tripadvisor, infatti, 4 stelle vengono spesso interpretate come un'esperienza "nella media", mentre dalle vostre parole sembra che la visita vi abbia davvero entusiasmato. Se si è trattato di una semplice svista, e vorrete eventualmente rivedere la valutazione, ve ne saremmo davvero grati. In ogni caso, grazie ancora per averci scelto e speriamo di rivedervi presto per una nuova avventura nei sotterranei di Roma.

This was a very unique tour with an archeologist as our tour guide. After a long walk through a park, we entered the catacomb area. We saw the area that it lighted with displays but also were able to explore areas that they are still working on excavating and researching. Our tour guide was fabulous and my teenager and I loved the tour.

A wonderful experience from the mando of Alessandro, the head guide. His art and savoir-faire made this adventure very fascinating and at the same time fun. The labyrinth is to be seen and surprised so much. Amazing to know his story and that he is inside and under his own Rome. Very recommendable

On the occasion of New Year’s Eve, we visited the “Labyrinth of Rome” at Parco della Caffarella, with the guidance of the Cultural Association “Undergrounds of Rome”. It is a series of underground tunnels (Roman quarries) that already, for about 2000 years ago, were used to extract pozzolan and other materials for the construction of new neighborhoods and then for the expansion of the city of Rome, to then be used as a fungus. The visit, in addition to the fun New Year's Eve party, was very interesting and lasted about 1h and a half. I recommend bringing a torch, if the visit takes place in the evening, because, from the entrance to the Caffarella park, to the entrance to the basements, it takes at least ten minutes of walking. Anyway, a nice and interesting experience.

It was my wife’s 40th birthday. We decided to do all of our excursions through this app which all of the other ones were perfect, except this one. We went to the waiting point, which happens to be right behind some dumpsters at a coffee shop. We waited there for about 45 minutes. No one showed up. We had a lot of phone calls back-and-forth after we had to do some heavy researching on who we talk to I highly recommend you not use this particular tour.
We're very sorry for the inconvenience. The reason we didn't show up was not our fault but a series of circumstances. The tour was requested at the last minute, and when the request arrived, we didn't have access to email. This is a complaint we've already reported to Viator. As hosts, not having an app that notifies bookings leaves us vulnerable to last-minute bookings if we don't have access to email. We're deeply sorry for this and apologize. Marco.
This tour was really great. If you're interested in diving into history outside of the center of Rome, please do this tour. Our guide was fantastic! We essentially had a private tour and got to dig into history, politics, art, mythology, religion and more. Our guide tailored the tour information to what we expressed interest in so we learned about history through the centuries up to and including more contemporary history of the use of this site during and after WWII. This is well worth a quick metro trip from the more typical tourist spots!
