The views from the top were absolutely beautiful! It was really cool to see Rome from an aerial standpoint- especially the Colosseum! The only reason I rate this at a 3 is because it was hard to find the guide to obtain our tickets for this activity. He was not at the meeting point referenced and when we asked a couple of people working at the monument/museum, they were unaware of where exactly to meet our guide. They sent us to a location nearby that offers tours but they couldn’t help us as our activity provider was Roots in Rome. However, the people were very nice and called our activity provider to let them know we were having issues and the provider wound up calling me and directing me on where exactly to meet our guide to get the tickets. FYI, this was a self-guided activity
I was at the meeting place on time , even early but the guide told me to go look by the buses but didn’t say witch ones. Well I walked around so many buses & never found her. It was confusing directions and because of that I missed my tour… not my fault… very disappointed 🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲
An excellent experience; polite and professional staff; great value for money. Highly recommended. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Finding the guide for our tickets was a bit difficult. He was siting behind the busses so it took us a while to locate him. Once we got the tickets, the venue was an excellent opportunity for photos.
The Vittoriano Rooftop itself was spectacular, however there was no need to purchase this package. The cost to access the rooftop elevator is only 18 Euro for adults and free for children. Instead we paid around 88 euro for a family of four. And rather than emailing or texting the tickets, you have to meet the host, who then sends them to you. We waited around at the meeting point as advised and then got a message to say he was waiting elsewhere.
Staff do not understand the sacredness of the place where they work. All the operators in the blue jersey circulate frantically with the radiolines trying to coordinate, communicating anxiety and stress even to those who simply pass by them. But the most serious thing in my opinion is the operator who "welcomes" you to the top of the elevator. Caught the last elevator at 6:45 p.m., as soon as the doors open intimate peremptory: "five minutes and then closed." We toured the landscape with crazy anxiety and then came across the totem that says it closes at 7:30 p.m. So why put (in a bad way for more) all this haste?! I understand that they are about to close and want to go home, but sometimes it would be good for the staff to remember that the tourist pays a ticket of 18 € to use the lift and that it is not fair to treat tourists as if they were cattle to be taken to pasture. We are on the Altar of the Fatherland.
We were there but could not bring up tickets or find the group. Very disappointed we missed tour- never got the text we were promised and web sight connection was terrible
We were given a meeting point when we booked this. We were never told not to go to the meeting point. We got to the meeting point 30 minutes before the meeting time and messaged the tour operator to make sure we were in the right place. We called the number given and it was a bad number. I messaged Viator and got a response that said we weren’t supposed to meet at this spot and the tickets were previously provided. We had previously received a message from the tour operator, but there was nothing about not meeting at the meeting spot, which is still shown on the booking in Viator. By the time we worked this all out, it was too late for us to make our way over to Vittoriano, as we had a subsequent tour we needed to make. This was misleading and confusing at best. The fact that the operator didn’t respond to our message also co tributes to this rating. I would stay away from this tour operator.
Little disappointed because we could not walk or there was no access to the area with the columns on the front of the building. We had lunch at the cafe and it was really good. Make sure you bring euros, because they charge for their bathroom.
DO NOT Purchase this. This is a scam. We never received our tickets. I called Roots in Rome, so did Viatour with no answer/response. I had to buy tickets at the box office. Now they are refusing to refund my money. The instructions indicate that I would receive the tickets 24 hours prior to the event. The tickets never arrived. Viatour is refusing to refund my money.
