I purchased this ticket just over an hour before the entry time. Upon arriving the ticket office, the employee told me that that was a voucher only, however they had no reservation under that voucher. I contacted Viator (Chat) and they first questioned me if I was at the correct location. Than they told me an email was sent to the office. 30 mins later the office still had no confirmation of my voucher. Viator ended my chat as if the problem had been resolved. Eventually the person at the ticket office gave me a Courtesy free admission ticket based on thrusting my words. The voucher was never validated nor used. I travel a lot, this year I’ll be in Argentina, Colombia and Turkey. Viator will not be my first option of tickets and tours.
This is a stunningly beautiful palace still lived in by the original family and housing their Private art collection. There are some amazing most pieces here in particular by Caravaggio and Velasquez. But the real winner is the building itself. You get to go round a beautiful Roman Palazzo with the paintings hung just as they were in the 18th century. It is like stepping back in time. A pope in the 17th century was from the family and his throne is kept in a special throne room. However, the chair is pointed towards the wall there’s no one is allowed to sit in it except a sitting pope! However, one thing to mention is you must get an audio guide otherwise you won’t have the faintest idea what you are looking at! It is not particularly well signposted so get a guide. Sometimes in busy times they run out of audio guides but hang around until one is returned. Check out the photos – this place is a stunner. Also, you can also go around the private apartments which are incredibly ornate and indulgent! That needs a special tour but it’s worth doing. Lovely garden courtyard as well and a nice restaurant / café.
Excellent experience. Beautiful place Loved it!
The museum was very beautiful. Everything went really well. The art and sculptures were breathtaking.
Very poorly managed. The information provided initially was incomplete and had to call to get a voucher. The person meeting us at the venue was not we're described and was not easy to find. This was not as described, "skip the line" but rather had to line up to enter behind general admission. The guide was generally informative but opionated and gave some wrong information. Obviously the guide was biased toward sculptures by Bernini and spoke of little else. Generally we would have been better off, for a much lower price by going ourselves with just an audio guide. The whole experience is overpriced and not enough time is allowed for the visit. Great collection and space but poorly managed and costly. Prefer visiting Galleria Doria Pamphilj.
Wonderful space, which brings together relevant aspects of the history of Rome and paintings of painters fundamental to the history of art, such as Tiziano, Rafael and Caravaggio. All very well preserved, in a space that is worth a visit. With audioguide the experience becomes richer.
Excellent and worthwhile visit to one of the great palaces of Rome. A good change from looking at museums and churches, yet full of opulence and beauty. It was unclear at the entrance whether we had to show our voucher at the initial checkpoint or all the way up the stairs. Following the signs we proceeded all the way up, only to be told that we needed to exchange voucher for ticket at the bottom of the stairway, and then go up again, ticket in hand to pass the second checkpoint. There could have been more clarity! Otherwise, the visit is one of the great memories of our tour of Rome. …. And also a big lesson: When in doubt, don’t be afraid to paralyze the line and appear obnoxious, if you must !
Beautiful collection of paintings but badly maintained; in particular the lights annoy the vision.
Spectacular for art lovers.
My wife and I really enjoyed the museum. The rooms of the palace were very beautiful. That is a very memorable museum.
