The tour itself was great and the tour guide Milo was very thorough, polite and friendly. He answered any questions that we had. The only disappointment was that it was advertised as a night tour and it was during the daytime/evening and ended before the lights came on.
We booked months in advance the special late night tour. The company messaged us about construction a few weeks before that forced them to reschedule us. They confirmed the date and time for reschedule to 5. Then a couple days before, they said they had to reschedule again due to the circumstances to 4:30. They then confirmed the day before and morning of about meeting points. We understand things happen, so we showed up excited, bummed about the night thing, but we understood things happen. We got in line with the group. They had given us the Rome pass, told us to get our ID out, and sent us the tickets in WhatsApp as we got ready to head in. We went through the first gate showing we had tickets and our ID, got to the ticket scanning point and found out the company purchased the wrong date. The company rep said, sorry, we will give you a refund. We asked for the correct date tickets, and they said, they are sold out and that we can try and come tomorrow morning and wait in line to buy them ourselves with no guarantee and they can’t help us. Next day, we waited in line with other people who experienced similar things. Moral of the story. Just buy online directly from the Colosseum. You will save money and a headache.
Our tour guide, Milo was sensational! Not only did he have expert level knowledge, he was an excellent communicator, and he was also witty and fun! Would 100% recommend him!
Interesting guide, has a good grasp of the knowledge and shares information well. However, it was difficult to find the meeting point to get the tickets. Furthermore, when booking, I was confirmed that we would go to the arena, whereas we did not go. The guide mentioned to me that it is not included in the tickets that were given to us on the day of the excursion just before the visit.... I requested a refund, which I received partially.

Milo was the best tour guide we have experienced: in Italy; he had an in depth knowledge of history and archeology. However, the tour company sent him elsewhere the second half of the tour and rescheduled the second half of the tour for two hours later. We had other plans and thought that was unacceptable, particularly as it was an expensive tour. We basically had to pay full fare for 1/2 a tour.

The Colosseum by Night tour consists of two parts: the guided visit inside the Colosseum, followed by a guided walking tour of the archaeological area outside (Forum, Imperial Fora, etc.) after dark. In your case, the Colosseum entry time had to be moved to 3:30 PM due to availability set by the Colosseum authorities—something beyond our control. Rather than cancel or shorten the experience, we gave you free time after the Colosseum visit to explore the interior and the Forum at your own pace, and set the meeting time at 6:00 PM, when darkness begins in Rome in October—so you could still enjoy the full night atmosphere as intended. We understand that the gap and the change of guide felt like a disruption, and we're sorry the experience didn't flow as you expected. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable, and he shared so much interesting information. He was obviously well-educated as he shared philosophical insights as well as historical info. The only thing that puzzled us was that we booked a night tour of the colosseum and the forum. Our tour began at 5, and the forum tour was on our own with no guide. However, the forum was closed after our colosseum tour, and we were leaving Rome the next morning. We never were able to tour the forum as a result. We wish we had known ahead of time.

We'd like to clarify: the guided portion of this tour covers the Colosseum (approximately 1 hour 15 minutes), while the Roman Forum and Palatine Hill are self-guided with the tickets included. These sites can be visited within 24 hours of your Colosseum entry time—either before or after. Unfortunately, the Forum does have its own opening hours and closes in the evening, so on a night tour it's often not possible to visit afterwards on the same day. We understand this wasn't made clear enough, and we sincerely regret that you missed it—especially since you were leaving Rome the next morning. Nolan did an excellent job and was very patient and courteous with all on the tour. Milano explained everything super well was very detailed and we really enjoyed the tour. The history of the columns Sam is absolutely amazing and was really intriguing and caused you to think about what went on at the site over the many many years. Was very interested also in the number of years the Colosseum was operational and all the history and events that were held over the 500+ years of operation again Milano was an excellent tour guide and did a phenomenal job of explaining the Colosseum it’s operation and going into extreme detail of how things worked and operated this tour is definitely a tour I would recommend to other others.
