A lesson was fantastic. Unfortunately we had problems with our train and he was very accommodating so we didn’t miss too much. Great way to see Rome in just an afternoon. Completely recommend it! Just wish we had tasted some of his family’s porcini
My husband wanted to see it all but he can’t walk for long periods of time. This allowed us to see all the key point from a point that was so accessible. The guide Lorenzo was knowledgeable about his city and the history and spoke perfect English so that was a huge bonus for us and all the kids questions. No crowds to shuffle along with we love loved this way to see the city. Best of all we were picked up and dropped off at our hotel!
AVOID! We had one day in Tome and was contacted to move our tour from 10am to 8am the day before because of some expected road closures due to demonstrations in city centre, we unfortunately couldn’t do that as we arrived late the night before which we explained to Royal Tours, they said ‘okay to leave at 10am’. Next morning, we waited and waited and no one turned up, I whatsapped Mariana who had tried to change the booking and got no answer, I called the office number supplied and left a message, again no answer and no explanation given, I finally got through on online chat to GetYourGuide who also tried to contact Royal tours and couldn’t get through, they refunded my excursion but we had wasted a good amount of time in Rome waiting and trying to contact Royal Tours. Very disappointing and wouldn’t use again! Think twice before choosing this company!
Not worth $362.00 at all. The driver barely spoke to us. He didn’t even scan our tickets! We drove in circles and he stopped at most of our destinations- we had to remind him about some - like the Spanish Steps. The description said a golf food tour… all we got was a lot of bumpy driving, a slice of pizza at Cafe Roma and not much more. Sadly…very disappointed.
We booked a three hour golf cart tour with culinary tasting for 5:30pm. We were told they would contact us 5 min before pickup. We went 15 min early to where we supposed would be the meeting place and the guide was there and said “I have been her for an hour!! We moved your tour time. I contacted to SEVERAL times!” I had no messages or notices from her ever. The coordinator had given her a number that was not mine. She called the tour after ours to see if they would move their time back (why did they double book to begin with, i dont know) so we did get our full tour time thanks to the family after us being understanding. Our guide asked where we had been in Rome and we told her we had done the Colosseum and Roman Forum so we did not need to go there. She immediately took us to the Colosseum and spent a bit of time there despite what we had discussed. The rest of the tour was good but felt very rushed as she was still getting calls/messages from the next booked tour as well as the tour coordinator and kept having to explain that they had given her wrong contact info for me. But we did get to see all of the big sights and our guide was very nice. Unfortunately, this tour was also listed as a culinary tasting so we did expect some food. We got gelato at the very start, but nothing after other than stops at the Nasoni. My kids were starving as they had been expecting stops with some food. Overall, it was very poorly communicated what the tour actually was. I also am unclear as to why they just changed our tour time and expected that we would just be available immediately when they came an hour early. Disappointing at best.
Luigi was a great tour guide, listened to what we wanted to see on the tour. He took us to a great gelato place that gave us homemade whipped cream on the already delicious gelato! Luigi made sure we saw the top sights like the Colosseum lit up at night. He recommended a great piazza (Camp Fiori) near our apartment for a late night dinner after the tour. I would highly recommend this tour, it was one of my family’s favorite activities of our whole trip!
What a treat! This is a fabulous way to visit many attractions and get around the city easily. Valerio was great! We had 6 people. 2 middle-age & 4 young adults. Driver was an hour late. Seemed lost at first. We never had a culinary experience. No water offered. No food. And he wasn’t going to drop us off at meeting point. Wanted us to walk from Colosseum to hotel. After I said no he drove us back to hotel.

Unfortunately, your tour took place on a public holiday in Rome, with several unexpected road closures and traffic restrictions throughout the city. Despite these challenges, our driver did everything possible to reach you and complete the tour as planned, which unfortunately resulted in delays and route adjustments. Regarding the culinary stop and refreshments, the roads leading to our usual partner location were also affected by the closures, making it impossible to access the area as originally planned. As for the drop-off, traffic restrictions and access limitations in the city center required us to find the most practical solution available at the time. Nevertheless, once you requested to be taken back to your hotel, our driver was happy to accommodate your request. We appreciate your comments and are sorry that the day’s exceptional circumstances impacted your experience.
No one ever showed up. Have not been able to get a response from anyone either. I have tried to message them through the app, their WhatsApp numbers, and email!
We sincerely apologize for the situation and completely understand your frustration. Unfortunately, the reservation was made very late at night, at a time when our offices were already closed and our operations team was no longer active.
