We booked a private golf cart tour for our multigenerational family and it was the perfect introduction to Rome. Seeing the city's highlights from a golf cart allowed us to cover far more ground than we could have on foot while still stopping frequently to explore, take photos, and enjoy the atmosphere. It was also a wonderful way to make Rome accessible for everyone in our group—from the youngest children to the grandparents—allowing us all to share the experience together without worrying about long walks or tired legs. Our guide, Alessandro, was outstanding. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and entertaining without overwhelming us with information. He shared fascinating stories about Rome along with practical local tips—like skipping the street vendors selling bottled water and instead filling our bottles at the city's many free public drinking fountains. One of our favorite family photos from the entire trip was taken by Alessandro at the beautiful overlook in the Borghese Gardens. He never rushed us and seemed to know exactly where to stop for both the best views and the best photo opportunities. We scheduled this tour for our first day in Rome, and it turned out to be an excellent decision. It gave us a wonderful overview of the city, helped us get our bearings, and introduced us to places we wanted to revisit later in our stay. The tour ended with delicious gelato near Campo de' Fiori—a perfect finale to an unforgettable afternoon. If you're looking for a fun, comfortable, and memorable way to experience Rome—especially with children or a multigenerational family—I highly recommend Not Boring Tours and, if you're fortunate enough to get him, Alessandro.

We had such a fantastic time. Everyone was so knowledgeable and helpful. Salvo gave a wonderful tour and Mike helped accommodate other last minute tours as well when other plans of ours fell through. We would absolutely recommend to anyone!!!
thank you so much!
We booked a golf cart tour around Rome for myself, my mom, and my 5-year-old son because we wanted to see as much of the city as possible without too much walking. It ended up being one of the best decisions we made on our trip! Our driver and tour guide, Emilie, was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly sweet, her English was flawless, and she made the entire tour fun and engaging for all of us. She shared so many interesting stories about Rome, as well as the artists and architects who helped shape the city’s history and beauty. We were also given headphones, which made it very easy to hear her clearly throughout the tour, even while driving around the busy streets. I would highly recommend this tour, especially for your first day in Rome. You get to see so many of the major sights comfortably, and it really helps you decide which places you want to come back and explore in more detail later. Perfect for families, kids, or anyone who wants to experience Rome without all the walking!
We're honored by your 5-star review! Thank you for choosing Not Boring Tours and for sharing your experience. We hope this was just the first of many adventures together!
Many of the sites listed were not even mentioned. Pantheon, Moses statute, Christ statute and no gelato at the end. The tour sites we got to see were ok but I booked because of the 3 we missed.
We’re very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with your experience. That is truly a shame, and it’s not at all the impression we had when you left the tour—we certainly did not believe you walked away feeling this way. Regarding the sites that were not visited, your tour took place over the weekend of May 1st (Labour Day), which is a major holiday in Rome. This period is exceptionally busy, and more importantly, several sites operate on reduced hours or close altogether. As a result, our standard itinerary can occasionally be affected. That said, our guide Salvo made a point to adapt in real time and include alternative stops to ensure you still had a full and worthwhile experience. While we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, we would like to stress that this is a very rare circumstance. In terms of the structure of the tour, these experiences are typically run as group tours, usually with up to 14 participants across two golf carts. On your particular day, however, there were no other bookings, meaning you received what was effectively a private tour at no additional cost. Additionally, Salvo was accompanied by a trainee guide, and for that reason he provided an even more detailed and in-depth commentary than usual, which we believe added value to your experience. At the conclusion of our tours, guests are normally dropped off at Campo de’ Fiori, from which they are free to continue exploring. Hotel or accommodation drop-offs are not included in group tours and are typically reserved for private bookings at a significantly higher rate. Nevertheless, Salvo chose—purely as a gesture of goodwill—to drive you directly back to your accommodation. We would also like to clarify a point that was not mentioned in your review. Earlier in the tour, near the Colosseum, Salvo personally purchased two Coca-Colas for you at his own expense—something that actually exceeds the cost of the gelato we usually offer at the end of the tour. When it came time for the gelato stop, Salvo did ask whether you would like to have it. While you did not decline, he understood from your urgency—given your 7:00 PM food tour—that your priority was to return quickly to your accommodation. In that context, he made the judgment to prioritize getting you back in time, rather than stopping for gelato and risking making you late. From our perspective, this appears to have been a simple miscommunication. Salvo consistently offers gelato to all guests, and it is always included when timing and circumstances allow. Once again, we truly regret that your experience did not meet expectations. Your feedback is important to us, and we will take it on board to continue improving both our communication and service. Kind regards Mike
Alessandro, just WOW. What a charming young man for our tour guide. We have been in Rome many times, but we learned new things from a boy who grew up in the area, and his stories were just fabulous. I love Rome! This was a fantastic tour, with off-the-cuff questions answered and interesting details! I would highly recommend!
He is gonna love this review, thanks so much!
Our guide, Emilie, was great! We learned a lot of little gems of knowledge about Rome, including discovering our favorite gelato spot, which is included at the end of the tour. We went back there our last night in Rome. It’s a great way to see areas and sites of the city and Emilie was great to chat with during the tour and to learn from. Highly recommend.
