Roatan Island Tour

Our private tour of Roatán with Juan Carlos was one of the absolute highlights of our cruise! From the moment we met him, he treated us like family. He drove us comfortably in his personal air-conditioned vehicle, provided cold bottled water, and customized the entire day to fit our interests. Juan Carlos adjusted our itinerary so we could visit the Iguana Sanctuary, which ended up being one of our favorite experiences. He also took us to Daniel Johnson’s Sloth and Monkey Hangout, where we had unforgettable animal encounters. Along the way, he brought us to a quiet waterfront restaurant with stunning views, drove us along the beach, and shared so much knowledge about the island. What truly made the day special was Juan Carlos himself. He was cheerful, funny, and genuinely enjoyed spending time with our family. He even took wonderful photos throughout the day and encouraged conversations in Spanish with our son, helping him practice and learn more of the language. By the end of the tour, our daughter summed it up perfectly when she said, “He feels like family—Uncle Juan Carlos.” Not only was this experience more personal than a ship excursion, but it was also a tremendous value. We saved money while having a far more authentic and memorable day. We left Roatán as huge fans of the island and cannot wait to return. When we do, we’ll be looking for Uncle Juan Carlos!

My family and I arrived to Roatan via cruise and had a few different places that we wanted to see on the island that wasn’t available together for the cruise exclusion options. I messaged Charlie and told him that we would like to go to Mayan Eden and the coconut farm and as soon as a few hour I had a price and email with instructions on where to meet. Instructions were clear and prices were very reasonable. We had our tour with Dave (Charlie’s uncle), he was very informative and friendly. Booking a reservation and communicating with Charlie for our Roatan tour was super easy and quick. Many difference options but settled on a tour of the monkey/sloth and island tour. came across Charlie's on Facebook. I usually book with excursions with the cruise line, but decided to do it differently. Charlie's provides a private experience, and for the price, it's well worth it. We walked to the meeting point and met with Juan Carlos. He was great in giving the city tour. He was super knowledgeable of the town and has great energy. Juan Carlos always made sure everyone felt comfortable and taken care of while sharing so much about the area. One of the highlights was the monkey and slough tour. Beach time at Brady’s Cay — such a perfect spot to relax, swim, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The atmosphere was laid-back and the views were stunning. I would definitely recommend Charlie's.

We booked a private tour with Charlie’s while our cruise was docked in Honduras. Our driver and guide was Dave and he exceeded our expectations in so many ways! As promised they met us promptly on time once we docked in Roatan. They were a little challenging to find at first but once we located Dave it was smooth sailing. He was so knowledgeable about the island and patiently answered all of our questions. We were traveling as a family with 2 young girls under the age of 10 yo. The tour was exactly as expected and were able to see and do more than we ever would have had we booked on a larger bus tour. We visited two animal sanctuaries and were able to interact with monkeys, sloths, macaws, guinea pigs, tarpons and iguanas. The kids had a fantastic time and we loved being able to share the island with them. We couldn’t have asked for a better driver and guide during our stay! Dave was amazing and we were so lucky to have shared the day with him. If you are planning to boat Roatan, we would highly reckoned this tour group and Dave!
