Vår resa börjar med det antika Kamiros som var en stad i det antika Rhodos. Dess plats ligger på öns nordvästra kust, 3 kilometer väster om den moderna byn Kalavarda. Den antika staden byggdes på tre nivåer. På toppen av kullen låg Akropolis, med Athenas tempelkomplex och stoa. Huvudbebyggelsen låg på mittterrassen, bestående av ett rutnät av parallella gator och bostadskvarter. På den nedre terrassen finns ett doriskt tempel, troligen till Apollo, Fontänhuset, med Agoraen framför sig och Altarens Peribolos, som innehöll dedikationer till olika gudar. Under den förhistoriska perioden var området bebott av mykenska greker. Själva staden grundades av dorianerna. (Entréavgiften är 6 euro)
Slottet Kritinia är ett medeltida slott från 1500-talet, på en kulle ca 131 meter över byn Kritinia. Det erbjuder en fantastisk utsikt över Egeiska havet, ön Chalki och någon annan ödemark.
Vi går med i vingården - provsmakning av olivolja och lokala produkter i en Cava i Embonas by på en av de äldsta vingårdarna på Rhodos. Vinerna produceras genom att samla druvor från vingårdarna så att du kan välja mellan olika sorters viner, alla gjorda i Embona. Dessutom kan besökarna smaka på likörer, ouzo, souma med honung, masticha och granatäpple, kombinerat med nötter och färsk frukt, i baren gratis. Olivolja produceras också och du kan hitta honung från lokala producenter och naturligtvis alla typer av kosmetika - örter med olivolja också. Upplev den bästa traditionella maten på en lokal taverna i Embonas by, under din fritid. Din reseguide kommer att ge några rekommendationer. Missa inte att kolla in Embonas souvenirbutiker för autentiska handgjorda varor!
Vi kör efter till Profitis Ilias ett 798 meter högt berg med mycket intressanta attraktioner. Det är en liten sommarort (kallad Elafos och Elafina) som skapades fräsch och avkopplande av italienarna 1929, i hjärtat av en skog av Aleppo tallar, cedrar och cypresser befolkade av rådjur, ett perfekt stopp för foton eller fika. På väg till Profitis Ilias passerar vi också framför en byggnad som var den italienska diktatorn Musollinis stuga som användes under tiden runt andra världskriget.
Vi fortsätter till Fountouklis-området där vi besöker en bysantinsk kyrka Saint Nikolaos. Denna kyrka har anor från 1300- till 1400-talet och är en central kvadratisk byggnad täckt med en kupol. Det som är viktigt i den här kyrkan är den tredubbla sammansättningen av freskerna i absiden.
När vi kör österut, inne på landsbygden och i byarna på ön Rhodos, kommer vi till Kallithea Springs, en majestätisk plats som var känd från forntiden för de välgörande egenskaperna och för vattnet som forsar från klipporna runt omkring. Numera, helt restaurerat och smakfullt renoverat, välkomnar komplexet Kallithea Springs hundratals besökare dagligen. Det är värt att se faciliteterna, simma i det klarblå vattnet i dess vikar, njuta av förfriskningar på kaféet framför havet eller besöka fotogalleriet med äldre bilder av ön! Den ojämförliga monumentala arkitekturen och platsens storslagenhet med dess unika mosaiker, Rotundahallen där en gång termiska vatten forsade, hänvisar oss nostalgiskt till en annan era. Booked this late as our planned similar tour operator trip was cancelled at the last minute. Very comprehensive tour which took us far outside our base in Rhodes Town. Kameiros was a treat. The Pompei of Rhodes. We enjoyed this more than Lindos Acropolis and the guide gave excellent background and historical information. The castle at Kritinia is worth the steps up for the views and lunch in Embonas was tasty and good value. All stops were timed about right with enough time to see things with the guide and in our own time. Coach was comfortable and pick up and drop off from outside our hotel was great.
Mixed feelings about this tour. The tour guide was excellent—very knowledgeable and engaging. I especially enjoyed her stories about everyday life in ancient Kamiros and would have loved to spend more time there. Unfortunately, the visit felt rushed, and we had very little time to explore. The traditional Greek lunch in Embona was the highlight of the trip. The food was delicious, and the wine tasting afterward was also very enjoyable. On the downside, most stops felt quite rushed, with little or no free time to look around. Some locations, such as Kritinia Castle, were not particularly impressive, and reaching them requires walking uphill, which may be challenging for less mobile visitors. By the end, the tour felt a bit too focused on places where extra spending was encouraged. Overall, great guide and excellent lunch, but I would have preferred more time at the main sights and a less rushed schedule.
The tour is very well orginised ,in each stop we stay a certain time because then we will be out of the times and we will finish very late ,all these are written in our site, in the stops we dont force the people to visit a particular shop or restaurant ,they are free to choose .Next time you could make it in private. It was unfortunate that the weather was a bit grim, but the tour went ahead anyway. There were some things that we couldn’t see due to this, but guide & driver handled the day very well. Great to see the sights we did & lunchtime taverna visit was amazing. Felt overall like we spent more time on the coach than off today, but feel this was probably due to the rain! Guide super informative & helpful, driver very safe:) Definitely recommend this tour if you don’t have the use of a car on the island.

Always charming island with excellent sea. On the recommended tour grade just enough. The two towns (Rhodes and Lindos) almost impassable x a storm tourism and redundant sellers of junk that distort the beauty
Dear Gianfranco , You have done the island tour not Rhodes city anmd Lindos ,i think that you are confused for the review ,on that tour you have visit other places of the island.
Bus ride at 38C without air conditioning, change to bus, 6 hours later very aggressive driver, did not feel like it, were insulted when we were asked in which hotel he should drop us off. Booked the next day drive again, were simply not picked up, had waited 40 min!
Dear Michael, We had an issue with the aircondition of the bus and we changed the bus ,the next day you dint have any reservation with us ,i am sorry but you are comfused .
Pre-communication was excellent prior to the trip date and we knew exactly where we would be picked up. The trip itinerary was full of and our guide, Helen, extremely knowledgeable. We were given the right amount of time at each stop. We felt we really got a sense of Rhodes history and saw many aspects of the island. We would highly recommend this trip as value for money.
