One of favorites experiences while visiting Kyoto! It is located in a beautiful area. Iya was a great teacher, the class was easy to follow and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!!
This was a fantastic class and one of our favorite experiences while in Japan. Nao was a superb teacher and we really enjoyed learning about both Japanese cooking and travel throughout the class. The meal was delicious and we can't wait to try it out at home with all of Nao's tips. Highly recommend don't miss it!
I really enjoyed Nao’s cooking class! Ramen was delicious as well as the side dishes. Nao adjusted the recipes so that we can easily find the ingredients to cook it at home, and that is definitely what I am going to do. :)
It has been almost a year since our cooking class and I still think it was my favorite part about travelling to Japan. Aya was so sweet and made the experience so fun! We loved every minute.
I had such a good time learning how to cook ramen with Aya. She was so friendly and made the learning process very easy.
Me and my honey had such a good time in this class! Ended up being just the two of us and our lovely instructor Aya. She keeps the class short and sweet which is nice since you can whip up a batch of ramen at home in no time! This class was much more homey than some of the other ones we have taken. We had great conversation and lots of laughs, she even took the time to write down some of the Japanese curries that were asking about. She also took us outside to take a beautiful photo in front of a tall temple. We definitely recommend taking this class if you are in town and want something fun and light hearted to do. Thanks so much for showing us how to to kneed ramen Japanese style!! Also she showed us a technique with cutting cucumber that we can surely impress our friends with!!! Simple and fun!!!
We spent a lovely afternoon making Ramen, chicken and cucumber salad with Aya. We happened to be the only two who were booked for this class so it was awesome having such a personal experience. I love that Aya gave us so much background on the traditional ways ramen is made. It definitely deepened my respect for this cuisine in which I already love. Aya was also so generous to share tips on other restaurants and sights to see in Kyoto which was very helpful. I would definitely book another course if I came back to Kyoto!
It was raining on the day I went to learn the secrets to fresh ramen noodles, and spending the grey afternoon holed up in a cozy kitchen making warm, delicious things was the perfect accompaniment to the weather. In addition to being fun, full of friendly people (some of the best people take cooking classes), and led by a very dynamic ramen expert, I learned to make ramen! I am very excited to cook for my friends.
They were flexible and let us start a bit late to accommodate for our train schedule. We made delicious pork ramen, lemon fried chicken, and cucumber salad. The portions were plenty for my partner and me, both with considerable appetites. Ten out of ten would recommend to a friend.
The cooking experience was really great fun and very informative, it was carried out in a relaxed manner and there was no pressure. Aya certainly knows her stuff, and I have now been inspired to cook Japanese food, making my own noodles and trying other adventurous recipes. I would thoroughly recommend this experience!
