Rainbow Mountain Tour

Urbano was our guide. He was amazing. We struggled a bit with the elevations affect on our oxygen and so we were extremely slow. Urbano was so patient and encouraging —-Shari g information and stories along the way. Took pictures (tons of pictures) of and for us. He then hiked with us over to red valley as well. Could not recommend Vidal and Urbanoin particular more! A 10 out of a 10!

Our private tour to Palccoyo rainbow Mountain was great. The Vidal Team was very helpfull in all situations. While booking Vidal himself explained all the details and options and answered every single one of our (stupid) questions with patience. During the tour our guide Urbano made it easy to understand the details of our surroundings. He could explain something about every tiny or giant thing that caught our attention in a fun and interesting way. Urbano also was caring for our safety and regulary checked on us for symptoms of altitube sickness. He made this day unforgettable! PS: Urbano claims He can not control the weather but we think he himself ordered the sunshine ;)

We did a Palcoyo day tour (private tour) in March 2026. I have no words to describe how smoothly and perfectly it all went. Our guide Urbano is fluent in English, very knowlwdgable with a good sense of humour and made this trip with explanations sooo so good. Even the way to Palcoyo mountain rage was a divine ! Communication with Vidal is the best we have ever had (and yes we do travel around :D) . So they get 10/10 from me and my husband.

We had a blast with Vidal Expeditions for our trip to Machu Pichu so we went for Rainbow Mountain as well. We had the pleasure of Vidal himself as our guide and he did not disappoint. The knowledge was impressive and we had some great discussions on the trip as well. Rainbow Mountain and the Red Valley with Vidal was worth every cent. Did the easrly star Rainbow Mountain with Rainbow Mountain Expeditions, who I wouldn't hesitate to use again. All the communication up to the trip was first class We had a fantastic day and Alex was brilliant as a guide Informative and fun. We were worried that the weather was going to spoil it but Alex urged patience (others were heading down after seeing nothing but cloud), and after an offering to Pacha Mama the clouds cleared for a great view. Our objective was to see Rainbow Mountain by making the hike up to it and we booked this trip after reviewing others on offer because of its great reviews. Urbano, our guide and owner of the company, is very experienced and had a 100% track record of getting everyone to the top. We were a group of 3 adults, ages 65-70, with sufficient fitness levels to do the walking, however, we didn’t know how our bodies would handle the elevation. Urbano coached us through it with confidence and ease, in his low-key manner, adjusting his recommendations to suit each person. We all made it! And it was felt like such an accomplishment. This was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you want to challenge yourself, do it with Urbano.
