This was an unforgettable experience. Practicing traditional samurai tatami cutting felt both powerful and deeply respectful of Japanese culture. The instructor was incredibly calm, patient, and genuinely kind. I highly recommend this experience.

Only when granted permission by one's lord or superior—through words like "Raise your head" or "Do not be troubled"—is one permitted to speak. Bought our tickets for 10 AM and waited around, but no one opened the shop… Very disappointing 👎🏻 We traveled via train for more than 35 minutes to get there and were super excited, so this was a total bummer. Attended this experience with my son (22). We both had an amazing time learning about samurai history and how to preform katas with a katana. It was just a short walk from the Osaka Castle grounds.
The sword is the soul of the samurai; it cannot be sold even if it starves to death.
