Kvällen börjar på Miradouro dos Barros, en fantastisk utsiktsplats i Lissabon. Här samlas ni mot den fantastiska bakgrunden av detta vackra läge för att presentera oss, och förbereda oss för kvällen som väntar. Vid vårt första stopp kommer vi att diskutera kolonialismens inverkan på den portugisiska kulturen.
Äventyret fortsätter på Damas, ett utrymme som kombinerar en restaurang, bar och konsertlokal. Det är här Lissabons queera nattliv verkligen vaknar till liv och queera röster finner en kraftfull närvaro. Stig in i Damas, en mötesplats som stöder invandrare som driver social och politisk förändring i Portugal. Detta är den perfekta platsen att njuta av exceptionella portugisiska rätter.
Vi kommer att göra ett kort stopp för att beundra en väggmålning tillägnad nejlikarevolutionen. Under detta besök kommer du att lära dig om diktaturen och det historiska sammanhanget som ledde till revolutionen, hur den utvecklades och dess bestående inverkan på det portugisiska samhället.
Äventyret fortsätter på Má Lingua eller A Mata, både queervänliga barer och kulturella utrymmen som ger plattformar för queersamhället att uppträda. Vid detta stopp kommer vi att fördjupa oss i de utmaningar som queer- och invandrarägda arenor står inför, inklusive den våg av nedläggningar som inträffade 2024.
Vi avslutar turnén i en queerägd bar, där vi kommer att diskutera den samtida queerscenen i Portugal, med särskilt fokus på Lissabon. Vi kommer att lyfta fram betydelsen av föreningar och kollektiv som leder viktiga diskussioner och utforskar potentiella lösningar för HBTQ+-gemenskapen. Dessutom kommer vi att prata om invandringens avgörande roll för att få ett dekolonialt perspektiv, att gå från traditionella normer för att verkligen tjäna en bredare och mer mångfaldig gemenskap.

The experience was interesting, it showed us Lisbon queer sites, but we waited a little longer, we went to two bars and explained a little the history of the city, but it put little emphasis on the history of the collective and queer struggle. As a recommendation, I think it would have been nice not only to go to dinner and drink and chat with each other, if not, give more importance to important spaces of the collective even asking for participation of referents. Of course, the guide was great throughout.

The Queer Lisbon Tour with Leo was absolutely incredible! From the moment we met her, Leo’s warmth and passion for Lisbon’s LGBTQ+ history shone through. She shared captivating stories, blending important historical events with her own experiences, making every stop along the way feel personal and meaningful. We strolled through the city’s beautiful streets, uncovering hidden gems and key landmarks that are significant to the queer community. Leo also introduced us to vibrant queer-owned spaces, showing us both the past and present of Lisbon’s LGBTQ+ scene in a truly inclusive way. One of the best parts was our stop at a cozy café, where we enjoyed a delicious meal and connected with the group over great conversations. By the end of the night, it felt like we had made new friends and gained a deeper understanding of the city. This was the best thing I did in Lisbon — an evening of good conversation, great food, and interesting historical information. By the end of the night, you've made new friends, learned a lot about Lisbon, and you're right in the middle of the queer scene as the nightlife is beginning. Great stuff.
It was an night tour that I went on alone. I was worried that I would be alone, but thanks to our guide Leonor, I had a very comfortable night. It was a great experience and the best activity I could have done in Lisbon by myself. It was a tour which I learned about the history of Portugal, queer life and had very enjoyable conversations. My wife and I attended the Queer Lisbon Nightlife Tour and truly had a splendid evening. The guide offered an enriching and inclusive experience, focusing on LGBTQ+ past and present in Portugal through a thoughtful, educational lens. Designed with an emphasis on community-based and decolonial perspectives, the tour did more than just highlight key historical points; they also explore the intersections of gender, sexuality, and colonialism in Portugal’s past. We visited a range of queer-owned spaces, from nightlife venues to immigrant and BIPOC-owned businesses, adding another layer of intentionality to the experience. The tour felt safe, respectful, and inclusive, particularly for trans individuals and queer women. We highly recommend this experience.

It was a lot of fun with Julie and the other guests. You will learn a lot about the history of individual people, about the colonial period and dictatorship in Portugal and how it has developed for queer people. Through the mix of information about some people's history and casual conversations about all sorts of topics, it was a perfect evening in Lisbon. The food and drinks were great and I definitely recommend doing the tour. I got a good insight into Portuguese cults. Thank you Julie and to the team:)
