My husband and I enjoyed truffle hunting at Karlic plantation. We had the opportunity to hunt truffles with Phillip and Dalma. Dalma, the truffle hunting dog, was so fun to watch! Phillip was very informative and fun. He taught us all about truffles and how the dogs are trained to hunt for them. Dalma found 3 black truffles on our adventure. We had the opportunity to cook with Lydia. She taught us how to make homemade gnocchi with truffle sauce. It was delicious! Lydia was so very friendly and so much fun. We enjoyed many truffle treats: honey, wine, dessert, chocolate. Everything was delicious. Karlic is located in such a beautiful location in Istria. The views are gorgeous!

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and exceptional hospitality. The atmosphere was relaxed, friendly and authentic, making us feel more like welcomed friends than ordinary visitors. The truffle hunt through the beautiful forest beside the lake was both exciting and fascinating. After the hunt came the absolute highlight: a wonderful cooking experience followed by delicious truffle specialities personally prepared by the owner, Ivana. Her passion, knowledge and love for what she does could be felt in every detail and every dish. As someone who works in tourism and regularly organizes experiences for guests, I truly appreciate genuine hospitality and professional service. Karlić Truffles exceeded all our expectations. My guests and I were absolutely delighted and will remember this experience for a very long time. A truly authentic taste of Istria and an experience not to be missed. Highly recommended — and make sure to book in advance!

This was the most amazing experience. I was in “Truffle Heaven”. Daughter Ivana took us into their museum and explained the whole family history and how they started from nothing. Then we went into the forest with our guide and 2 dogs who did find truffles. After we had the most outstanding lunch. Everything with truffles. But probably the best was the family and staff. We walked out with hugs from everyone at Karlic and lots of products from the store. Don’t miss this. KG

What a wonderful experience. The truffle hunting experience was wonderful. We went out with a hunter and 2 dogs and watched the dogs dig for truffles. Next stop, a fabulous 5 star lunch with truffles and more truffles in a beautiful restaurant. A wonderful charcuterie board, red and white wine, followed by lunch. We watched as lunch was prepared and enjoyed every bite. Dessert was amazing too. Come hungry!! The family was so welcoming and friendly. This was a magical experience NOT to be missed. We left carrying lots of truffle products from their store.

If you wish for an authentic truffle hunting, tasting and cooking experience this is the place to come. Everything and everyone is exceptional. We went into the forest with our guide Filipe and his dog Lila for a very informative and exciting hunt. Lila found 5 truffles, ate part of one as her reward. Filipe’s honor in sharing his family’s olives, truffle oaks and vines is apparent in his enthusiasm. Then you move to the restaurant and you you are in the gracious care of Lidija and Nicole who make sure you know how to use the truffles in the dishes you will be eating. They both want you to learn and enjoy every moment. The scrambled egg demo was incredible. Who would ever think to spend so much time slowly cooking a scrambled. The best scrambled I have ever had. And I only eat scrambled eggs. Please book this experience.

We had a wonderful truffle tour followed by a cooking session. Everything was absolutely perfect, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. It was a fantastic experience from start to finish, and we would highly recommend it!

It was a wonderful experience with a truffle hunt and a subsequent gnocchi cooking class - it was super delicious and the staff were really, really nice! A great experience for young and old! Highly recommended!

Karlić family delivers every time, without exception, on all levels! The passion you will see in the smiles on cooks faces, the love for the dogs and the hunt from the hunters, genuine interest in visitors and care for a great experience from the owners to any of the stuff is something that keeps me coming back to this place time after time, and recommending it to anyone visiting the area in general. The best and tastiest experience you can have in the region!

This experience was absolutely incredible. Armin was an amazing guide and made the tour such a unique experience from the moment he introduced himself. He taught us so much but made it very easy and fun to go on the tour. We were in the forest hiking and it felt like a scene from a movie. That alone would have been amazing but then we got the unreal truffle food experience to end it. The truffles were delicious and there was a wide variety. I wish I could do this tour all the time!
