Perfect organization, taken care of down to the smallest detail, planned and agreed upon with the operator for quite some time. The driver then turned out to be a kind and discreet person, his driving attentive and safe. We had a great time.

If you are lucky enough to travel frequently, you will know that private tours range from an overpriced taxi to an exceptional experience. If you are truly lucky you will receive a day that will stay with you forever. And that’s what we got. My Son and I are travelling around China for his 18th. I booked this tour as Jinshanling is a more remote area, in the hope that it might be less crowded. Leo and Sammy picked us up from our Beijing hotel in a very comfortable vehicle, with AC and fresh, cold bottled water. The 2 hour drive passed quickly and we were dropped off with Sammy to climb up to the Wall. I cannot express how amazing this stretch of the Wall is, there were hardly any other people there when we arrived. It was very hot so it was a relief to come back down to find Leo waiting to take us back to Beijing and, to our delight, they fitted in a visit to the Summer Palace, where again, Leo dropped us right by the entrance and Sammy guided us around. We had planned to go to the Forbidden City self guided in the following morning but, at 9pm I messaged Leo and Sammy to ask if they might guide us. Despite the late hour they organised the tickets and goodness me I’m glad we did. Sammy guided us through all the Security checks and got us to Tiananmen Square. It was a very hot day, and in the Forbidden City I was rather overwhelmed by the heat. Sammy immediately found me an air conditioned area and made sure I was OK before continuing. If you really want your trip to be the best it can be and utterly stress free I cannot recommend this enough.

I did a private tour to the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall and to Gubei Water Town. Upon booking this tour, the owner messaged me very quickly. He advised me to downlaod certain apps in China such as WeChat, Alipay, Didi and Amap. He kept in touch frequently before my tour and made the itinerary and routes I had to follow perfectly clear. He made a groupchat with me, himself and my private driver (for the whole day). Everything went very smoothly. The only thing I had to worry about was walking a very breathtaking part of the Great Wall and walking through Gubei Water Town (on my own). My driver dealt with the ticketing process. He picked me up at my hotel, brought me to all the places and brought me back to my hotel at the end of the day. I'd recommend to this tour to everyone that wants to explore the Great Wall and Gubei Water Town on their own or with their family/friends. You have all the time and freedom in the world and you don't have to worry about anything the whole day. Words can't describe how beautiful the Jinshanling section of the Great Wall is. I've also been to the popular Mutianyu section, but I'd really recommend taking the Jinshanling section. There are way less people and you can walk from tower to tower for hours (but you don't have to, there are multiple exits). Gubei Water Town is also beautiful. The town reminded me of Venice with all the canals and small bridges. In the afternoon the town is lit up and also the Great Wall in the background is lit up. This was an unforgettable day for me and I would certainly recommend this tour.

Chris provided my wife and I with such a great experience. He took us to jinshanling and Gubei water town which took a full day. We ate breakfast and lunch together and he helped us try local favourites and experience Beijing cuisine. Chris is very kind and friendly, and does everything he can to provide the best possible experience.

What a fabulous experience - would highly recommend the trip and provider. Great communication throughout with some helpful recommendations...all went incredibly well. Certainly worth travelling that bit further to explore this section of The Wall. Some challenging climbs but the stunning views and experience were worth every effort. I ask a ton of questions & Gloria patiently answered all of them. We met online, but I booked through TA for security. She was a wealth of information before and during our trip and even booked tickets for a sight in another Chinese city after I couldn’t figure out how to do it. Our guide for Jinshandling (highly recommend this remote part of the wall) and Beijing was Chris White. Chris was timely, professional, but also flexible—offering to change our itinerary to add “more fun” sights and include some local street food specialties (a fried sweet pastry), after we’d inquired. He was very organized & got us to places on time. My son is learning Chinese & Chris talked to him so he could practice his Chinese. The car he drove us in was very clean and comfortable. He also took some great pictures and made a nice video of our time with him. I recommend this group 110% (& I’m not always easy to please). Thank you, Gloria and Chris.
