Rundtursrutt 1️⃣ Lekuresi slott Vår första destination är Lekuresi slott, en slående fästning med anor från 1500-talet. Slottet är byggt i kvadratisk form med två runda torn som är placerade diagonalt och erbjuder panoramautsikt över Saranda, Joniska havet och den närliggande grekiska ön Korfu. 2️⃣ Det blå ögat (Syri i Kaltër) Därefter besöker vi Blue Eye Spring, en av Albaniens mest fängslande naturliga underverk. Det kristallklara vattnet bubblar upp från jordens djup och skapar ett fascinerande djupblått ”öga” omgivet av frodig grönska. 3️⃣ Butrint nationalpark Vårt sista stopp är nationalparken Butrint, ett UNESCO-världsarv som visar lager av historia från gamla civilisationer. Här får du utforska : Den romerska teatern Asklepiostemplet Akvedukten Den bysantinska kyrkan Att strosa genom parken känns som att resa i tiden – från den hellenistiska perioden till romerska och bysantinska epoker – allt utspelat bland lugna naturlandskap.

Slottet ligger på en strategisk kulle med utsikt över staden Saranda, sydost om centrum. Härifrån kan man styra hela staden samt öarna Ksamil.
Buthrotum var en forntida grekisk och senare romersk stad och biskopsrådet i Epirus. Buthrotum var bebodd sedan förhistorisk tid och var en stad i den grekiska stammen av Chaonians, senare en romersk koloni och ett bispställe. Inbyggd sedan förhistorisk tid har Butrint varit platsen för en grekisk koloni, en romersk stad och ett bispställe. Efter en period av välstånd under bysantinsk administration, sedan en kort ockupation av venetierna, övergavs staden i den sena medeltiden efter att myrar bildades i området. Det nuvarande arkeologiska området är ett förvar med ruiner som representerar varje period i stadens utveckling.
Skönheten i en tät grön skog blandad med kristallvattnen i källorna. Också mycket intressant närvaron av ett sällsynt insekt som kallas "Den blå sländan" Det blå ögat (albanska: Syri i kaltër) är en vattenkälla, naturfenomen som förekommer i Sarande, Albanien. En populär turistattraktion, flodens klara blå vatten bubblar ut från en fantastisk, mer än femtio meter djup pool. Dykare har gått ner till femtio meter, men det är fortfarande oklart vad det faktiska djupet på karsthålet är.

We were on a Seabourn cruise and the on board shore excursions only include 2 of the 3 major things to see during our stop. Instead of settling for 2 we searched out for a private tour that would take us to all 3 locations. Fantastic experience from start to finish. Easy to communicate with once we arrived in port, prompt pickup and a fantastic tour. Een include front row parking at the sites. Upon return our tour guide recommended a wonderful restaurant on the beach and then we had a short walk back to the ship. Awesome experience.

It was a bit chaotic when we got there but our driver knew how to get us to the front. The water colour is just breathtaking . There are a few short walks along the banks of the water too, which are so peaceful, even with the people there. The water is very cold!
We took a trip to Albania from Corfu and booked this excursion and Butrint on our ferry on the way over,The colours and clarity of the water is amazing. We were told it was safe to drink the water so we tried it. It was cool refreshing and tasted good. It is a place which deserve to be visited, for sure

If you are in Saranda try this amazing experience... Blue Eye 👁 was a magical place ( cold , blurred water) Butrint National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage site and one of Albanian’s most important archeological sites. Lekursi Castle offers you a panoramic view from above the city
We booked a tour from Msc Cruise and Im very happy to say that everything was perfect they were very fast we don’t have to wait at the port, they use an air conditioned car, comfortable also the tour guide speaks 3 different languages Thankyou Mario see you next year 👌
