Tidsresor till 15-1700-talet då Mysore var ett av världens mest avancerade och välmående kungariken. Besök det ikoniska Mysorepalatset, den legendariska Tipu Sultans sommarpalats med magnifika målningar, de ökända Baileys fängelsehålor och en gammal basar som fångar charmen i Mysore. Vi kommer att besöka den spektakulära St Philomena kyrkan som är Asiens näst största för att förstå Mysore Maharajas sekulära ideal. Ett unikt sandskulpturmuseum bidrar till den uppslukande upplevelsen. Turen arrangeras av ett företag som är godkänt av turistministeriet. Vi besöker det storslagna Mysore-palatset och tillbringar nästa timme i detta underverk byggt i indo-saracenisk stil med en blandning av hinduiska, muslimska, rajput- och gotiska arkitekturstilar. Palatset är en stenstruktur med tre våningar, med marmorkupoler och ett 145 fot femvånings torn. Den guidade turen tar dig genom Public Hall, Private Hall, Dolls Pavilion och Royal Wedding Hall.
Vi når den historiska staden Sri Rangapatnam som var huvudstaden i Tipu Sultan, Tiger of Mysore, på 1700-talet. Vi kommer att spåra hans liv från dagen då han slogs mot en tiger och dödade den med en dolk, hans tappra strider med britterna, hans administrativa och ekonomiska reformer och hans banbrytande användning av raketer i krigföring. Han är krediterad för att vara en pionjär i att använda raketer för krigföring och britterna improviserade senare på hans teknologi under första världskriget. Vi besöker Dariya Daulat Bagh, Tipu Sultans sommarpalats. Det är byggt i indo-sarcenisk stil och har några magnifika väggmålningar som skildrar kriget i Tipu med britterna. Den mest kända utställningen här är den berömda målningen "Storming of Srirangapatna" av Sir Robert Ker Porter. Temat för målningen är Srirangapatnas slutliga fall den 4 maj 1799 när britterna besegrar Tipus styrkor.
Överste Bailey Dungeon är den berömda fängelsehålan där Tipu fängslade flera brittiska officerare under kriget. Berättelser om denna ökända plats kommer att berättas under turnén!
Vi besöker Indiens första sandskulpturmuseum. Uttänkt och byggt av Gowri, en ledande sandskulptör, tog sandmuseet 4 månader och 115 laster byggsand att bygga. Det finns 16 teman med 150 skulpturer utställda.
Vi besöker St Philomena kyrka. Byggt 1840, tidigare kallades det för St. Joseph Chavez, som senare ändrades till sitt nuvarande namn. Ursprungligen en liten kyrka, den fick sin nuvarande form 1933 under Maharaja Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV:s regeringstid. År 1843 byggde Mysore kung Mummadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar kyrkan för att tillgodose behoven hos det europeiska folket som då bodde i Mysore. Idag är det den näst största kyrkan i Asien.
Nästa i vår resa till Mysore besöker vi Devraja-marknaden, den charmiga gamla basaren i Mysore. Dess en sensorisk fröjd som består av blommor, grönsaker, frukt, jaggery, lök och potatis, puffat ris och kokosnötter!

What a fabulous experience. Shiva was very professional, hugely knowledgeable and very personable in the way he relayed information to me. Having someone like Shive present the Somnathapor temple to me made the experience all the richer because: 1. I could appreciate the age of the structure; 2. The ingenuity of the people who designed the structure; 3. The material from which the structure was created; 3. The creativity of those that decorated the structure ; 4. The educational material available on the temple outer walls. 5. The Hindu history carved on the walls also. A hugely beneficial experience going with such a terrific guide. I also appreciated the opportunity to ask many questions about Indian life from which I gained terrific insights from Shivas responses. Shive was also flexible with the itinerary to take me to a village and describe some of the ways of life, housing construction methods and infrastructure. Thanks very much Shive I've had a tour that I will remember for a longtime . All the best for your future.
Full day tour with Chethan as our guide. Very knowledgeable, went at our pace. Nothing was too much trouble. Made sure we were happy and seeng the things we were interested in . The driver was prompt and careful. Would not hesitate to recommend them.
The tour was fantastic! The historic temples were incredible to see and I learnt so much about each one. The carvings were stunning and very impressive. My guide, Manjunath, was wonderful and shared all of the important spots, as well as stopping for refreshments throughout the day. Traditional lunch was a highlight, very delicious! I also shared that I am very interested in how sugar is made and really appreciated how he also pointed out the sugar cane fields and took me to have a look at one. It was very special and custom. 🙏 A fantastic experience and we saw lots of beautiful places on the way!

I had the most amazing day with my guide Shiva today. He is so knowledgeable not just about Mysore but about the history of the Hindus in the region and the development of Mysore. Fantastic lunch and we also talked Uk, Indian and Geo Politics - I could not have asked for a better day out in Mysore!

Our driver Harish arrived on time, had us home on time and entry to all of the sites was very smooth. Lunch was fantastic - a real highlight. It was a great day for me and my son. I’m happy to recommend to anyone.
We had a wonderful day with Shiva seeing the best sights of Mysore! The Tipu Sultan Summer Palace is really worth the visit - it is exquisite inside and so well preserved. Mysore Palace did not disappoint - it is truly stunning. Our South Indian lunch was delicious! And a great tour around the market which is so amazing to wonder around - the sights, the smells, the colors - all so incredible to take in. You will see so much on this tour! Shiva is super knowledgeable about all things Mysuru and we felt like we were getting the expert’s guide tour! A really great day that we both really enjoyed.

Our guide Shiva is knowledgeable and I would highly recommend getting him as your guide. However I was disappointed with 5sensestour actual iteanrry was different from emailed confirmation iteanrry. I think I did not get value for my money for a private tour
We saw the Somnathpur temple, Mysore palace, Devraj market, and Philomena church. Our tour guide Shiva was very knowledgeable and explained stories from the Ramayana, Gita, and Mahabharata with us while at the temple and of the history of the Mysore palace. We also had a great lunch while on the tour where we ate traditional South Indian food off a banana leaf. Would definitely recommend for anyone visiting Mysore.
