Ian is great, knowledgeable and nice. I went with my mom to enjoy a private sailing ant the beautiful lake and the experience as a whole was wonderful. Highly recommended.

Great communication from our experienced, relaxed and friendly guide Ian. I haven't sailed for very many years and it was a new experience for family. Ian made it great fun, showing us the ropes, and guiding us on the tiller and jib sail as we tacked and gybed up and down the lake, finding the wind to pick up some speed and enjoy the excitement of heeling. We felt in safe hands the whole way. Next time we are in the region would want to book again.

This experience was booked for me for a birthday treat. It involved climbing onto a yacht moored at a jetty on Lake Windermere then sailing around the lake for two hours. The host, Ian Doig, was a competent professional sailor and after the meet and greet made a point of asking us if we wanted life jackets. We set off and Ian talked us through the process of pointing the boat into the wind to set the sails, then basic procedures like tacking to get up and down the lake. This was a challenge as the wind was variable and the lake was busy but that made the experience much more enjoyable as we had to keep an eye out for other craft and be aware of changes in wind direction and current etc. A couple times we got up to five knots, which was pretty exhilarating. Ian was very knowledgeable about the lake and the local area and very communicative, including talking about how he got into sailing. Altogether this was a really enjoyable experience and my only regret is that we couldn't go out again. I would recommend this experience to anyone who is interested in sailing or who wants to explore Lake Windermere and enjoy some fantastic scenery.

Brilliant views and even better experience. The guide taught us all the basics about sailing and it was a very unique experience to help sail a boat. Since this was our first time I was skeptical about choosing this as we had a 4 year old and a senior citizen but it was worth it. Highly recommend cruising with our guide, he knows his stuff. All in all a great activity for family.

Amazing sail. The best way to experience lake windamere by a long way. Recomended for families and couples with no sailing experience or a lot. Either way you will have fun.

From start to finish the short 2 hour session was excellent, it was very hands on and a wonderful memory. I would recommend anyone to try this. The booking, admin and communications were very clear. We ran to time and felt very safe but fun throughout.

We sailed today with Ian & the whole experience was so much fun! He is such a lovely bloke, so easy to talk to & so knowledgeable on the subject & local area. I was nervous but was put at ease straight away. The trip round the lake whilst actually being in control was amazing! I'm so glad we chose this interactive experience over a tour. It was so great to be hands on. Thank you so much to Ian - will be highly recommending you to everyone! We will be back!!

This was the grandchildren first experience of sailing and they loved it. Ian was brilliant with them, allowing them to feel as if they were in complete charge of the boat and giving them real confidence in decision making.

A great experience in stunning surroundings. Ian was very calm and informative, putting us both at our ease from the outset. Thoroughly enjoyed the sailing session, it was the highlight of our mini break and would definitely recommend it.
