Utforskningar på halvdagstempel börjar vid Angkor-templet. Byggd av kungen Suryavarman II i början av 1100-talet som hans statliga tempel och huvudstad. Som det bäst bevarade templet på platsen är det den enda som har förblivit ett betydande religiöst centrum sedan grundandet - först hindu, tillägnad guden Vishnu, sedan buddhist.
Ta fortsätter för att besöka den södra porten i Angkor Thom City, Bayon, mittpunkten i den antika staden. Förundras över Bayons spektakulära 54 torn dekorerade med över 200 gåtfulla stenytor
Därefter besöker vi Baphuon-templet och den 350 meter långa 'Elephants' terrassen.
Terrassen användes som en gigantisk visningsplattform för offentliga ceremonier och fungerade som bas för kungens stora publikhall.
Härifrån flyttar vi till den mystiska "Lepra kungen". Stående uppe på 7-metersplattformen är en naken sexlös staty. Du kommer att vara färdig med din turnering och återvända till ditt hotell ungefär klockan 12.
Tonle Sap Lake ligger i centrum av Kambodja. Nationens stora sjö är ett av världens geografiska underverk och dess extraordinära bo-mångfald och hydrologi gör det till ett ekologiskt underverk. Tonle Sap är 160 km lång och 36 km bred.
Efter lunch kör vi 30 minuter till avgångspunkten vid byn Chung Khneas och kryssar längs en kanal, förbi flytande byar komplett med skolor, restauranger och till och med ett sjukhus. Se fisknät som hanteras, barn som simmar och leker, flytande grisötter och till och med krokodilhöljen. Discover the ultimate tour seamlessly blending temple exploration with a stunning sunset over the lake. This full-day experience strikes the perfect balance, allowing for a leisurely pace and the flexibility to tailor the visit based on personal preferences or specific areas of interest. In our case, we took advantage of a one-hour stop at the hotel after exploring the temples, providing a refreshing rest before heading to the lake. The car/boat driver and guide showcased excellence, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable journey. Prior communication regarding pick-up and logistics was also exceptionally positive. Without a doubt, we look forward to repeating this experience!
Our day began on a positive note as Theam picked us up promptly, showcasing an impressive knowledge of the history surrounding Angkor Wat, the Floating Village, the Lake, and Siem Reap. His excellent storytelling skills added a captivating dimension to the experience. Theam took great care of us throughout the day, ensuring our comfort and well-being. The driver also contributed to our overall satisfaction by providing water and refreshing cool towels throughout the journey. In summary, we had a truly fantastic day.
We thoroughly enjoyed our one-day tour, and there's no doubt that Pin, our guide, ensured we made the most out of our visit. The tour kicked off right as we hopped into the tuk-tuk, with Pin providing insights into contemporary Cambodia and recent Cambodian history. Upon our arrival at Angkor Wat, Pin guided us to the welcoming shade of a tree, setting the stage with information about the significance of the moat surrounding the impressive structure. Pin's extensive knowledge about the history and architecture of the temples was invaluable, as he pointed out details we might have overlooked if exploring on our own. Pin's attention to detail during his explanations of the bas-reliefs was particularly impressive. We even had the chance to witness remarkable trees that played a role in supporting the temple structures. The timing of the tour was well-paced, allowing us to visit and learn about four temples without feeling rushed. Mr. Buffalo, waiting with his tuk-tuk to transport us between temples, ensured our well-being with an abundance of cold water to keep us hydrated. The lunch break provided a refreshing stop with a diverse selection of food to cater to different tastes. The timing was impeccable for catching the sunset from a hilltop temple, offering a breathtaking view all around. Pin, having grown up in the area, shared fascinating insights into the past and present, including details about the wildlife. We felt privileged to spend a day with him, and it added a unique dimension to our overall experience.
