Privat VW Beetle Tour till Chichen Itza, Cenote & Valladolid

Turen drivs av Senor Travel Bug och är en klassiker i Cancun- och Riviera Maya-regionen, men med två huvudsakliga skillnader. Du kommer att åka i en klassisk VW Beetle målad som en racerbil (även om du kan välja en mer "standard" bil om du föredrar), och din Guide, en före detta professionell fotograf, kommer att ta bilder och video under hela dagen, som alla kommer att delas med dig gratis till nästa dag. Du bör inte lämna denna region i Mexiko utan att besöka Chichen Itza, den enda moderna Wonder of the World i Nordamerika. Efter en guidad tur i ruinerna visar sig ett uppfriskande dopp i en cenote alltid vara mycket välkommet och något du bara kan uppleva i denna region. Sista stoppet är i Valladolid där du promenerar på gatorna och det stora torget, kanske uppfriskande med en svalkande drink bredvid katedralen för att avsluta turen innan återkomsten till Cancun. Den första platsen som besöktes är Chichen Itza, en UNESCO: s världsarvslista sedan 1980-talet och röstade fram till ett modernt världens under 2007. Den anses vara den viktigaste av Maya-platserna främst för att den har byggnader från de två Maya-epokena och därför skiljer sig åt. arkitekturstilar som speglar den föränderliga politiken, övertygelsen och kulturen från 435 e.Kr. till den spanska erövringen på 1500-talet, men också för dess religiösa betydelse för Maya som pilgrimsfärdsort. Till skillnad från de flesta guidade turer tar Señor Travel Bug dig till de äldre och nyare delarna av Chichen Itza och förklarar deras relevans. Vi kör cirka 2h45 för att komma fram till Chichen Itza, beroende på upphämtningsplats.
Vårt andra stopp kommer vanligtvis att vara till antingen en eller två cenoter, och kommer att väljas efter att ha diskuterat med besökaren deras preferenser t.ex. klipphoppning, bara flytande, se grottstrukturer etc och kan vara före eller efter lunch beroende på hunger och hur mycket tid som spenderades i Chichen Itza (en fördel med en privat rundtur). Besökare kan sedan simma, hoppa eller bara koppla av i det svala vattnet i cenoterna som är något unikt för denna region i världen. Vi kör i 30-45 minuter efter Chichen Itza för att komma fram till denna plats (beroende på vilken cenote som valts som speglar varje individs eller grupps stil (dvs. lugn eller äventyrlig cenote)
Antingen före eller efter cenoten stannar vi för att äta lunch, igen beroende på besökarnas preferenser. Maten ingår inte, men guiden kommer att ge rekommendationer från sin erfarenhet och kunskap som återspeglar deras smak och budget. Det här kan vara (beprövad och beprövad) gatumat, en lokalbefolkningsrestaurang där du kan besöka köket och se tortillas göras, en exklusiv Mayarestaurang eller till och med ett pizzaställe. Vi kommer att köra i 30-45 minuter för att komma fram till lunch, beroende på vilken cenote som valts för din privata rundtur och valet av restaurang som speglar resenärernas smak och aptit.
Det sista stoppet för din mexikanska klassiska turné i en mexikansk klassisk bil (eller alternativ om så önskas) är i Valladolid, en mexikansk pueblomagi eller "magisk stad". Valladolid är den spanska koloniala staden närmast Cancun och Riviera Maya, vilket gör det väl värt ett besök för att se ett annat "ansikte" av Mexiko. Vi kommer att vandra de mest attraktiva gatorna i Valladolid, kanske surfa i dess butiker och även det centrala torget, och vi avslutar ofta dagen med en sval uppfriskande drink bredvid katedralen. Vi kör i 5-30 minuter för att komma fram till Valladolid, och efter att ha turnerat i den magiska staden kommer vi att köra i cirka 2 timmar för att återvända till din upphämtningsplats i Cancun, Puerto Morelos eller Playa del Carmen.

Comfy car, good inf and coordination with local guide.
This was such a great tour! Paul offered customized recommendations and slight detours based on our individual preferences. He was very knowledgeable about all the stops and everything else in between. Based on the above, we definitely got a local taste of the region. Thanks again, Paul!
Our day with Paul was phenomenal. I’m an over-planner and over-thinker, so I connected with Paul months ahead of our trip, and he engaged with me immediately and continued to be a resource for questions prior to us ever meeting! Everything from booking, pick up, the tour itself, and returning to the hotel was super smooth. Zero stress from point to point. The cost of the tour is 100% aligned with value. Our day with Paul was filled with history, cultural insights, humor, and yummy food we would not have discovered without him! Our group of four opted for the Chichen Itza, Cénote, and Valldolid day, and we are so glad we did! We certainly would have booked another day with him exploring other sites and areas if we were here longer! The four of us are the on the big and tall side, so we opted for the Mitsubishi Xpander vehicle over the VERY COOL VW Bug. The ride was comfortable and quiet. This adventure was without a doubt the highlight of our visit, and should we return, we will be seeing Paul again!

We had an excellent experience with Senior Travel Bug, touring the pyramids, a cenote, and a nearby colonial town with Paul. The entire day was thoughtfully curated and never felt rushed or overly scripted. Paul is incredibly knowledgeable and he brought the history to life in a way that was engaging without being overwhelming, and he adjusted the depth of information based on our interests. What really stood out was how he tailored the pace of the day to us, making it feel like a truly personalized experience rather than a standard tour. He’s also genuinely friendly and easy to spend the day with, which makes a big difference on a full-day excursion. We had a great time and would highly recommend Paul to anyone looking for a high-quality, customized tour experience.

Paul was recommended to us by our friend who used to work with him and we are so grateful to her for introducing us. We spent 2 full days with Paul and could have happily gone on for so many more. We cannot recommend him and his trips more highly. On the first day he took us to Chichén Itzá and on the way we got to know him whilst he explained the history of the Mayan period and that of the Yuucatan penninsula in general. Once at Chichén Itzá he continued his brilliant tour telling us about all the buildings, and combined this with his characteristic friendly and fun approach so that the whole experience was both fascinating and totally enjoyable. He was happy to go at any pace to suit our questions. After that he took us to a beautiful Cenote, timing the visit perfectly to avoid the crowds. After a delicious lunch in a restaurant he chose to suit our needs, we wandered around Valladolid with him where, once again, his immense knowledge of the area and its history made the visit brilliant. At the end of the day, driving around in his wonderful and incredibly comfortable Beetle we felt like we'd certainly made a new friend, as well as having had a perfect day. As already mentioned, we could not recommend him more highly!

What a fantastic tour from start to finish great fun! Paul was just superb from local area knowledge, to information around the ruins, He designed the tour to suit our needs and desires, kept the kids interested and included in all with interactive experiences along the way. Plus also a professional photographer so win win. The Absolute highlight of our holiday and strongly recommend to all. We Will be sure to contact Paul next time we visit Mexico again.
We had a wonderful time with Paul. We had a group of 4, and were skeptical about travelling the distance in the VW Bug, so Paul made arrangements to drive us to Chichén Itzá in a quite comfortable Audi Q5. He arrived promptly at 6:30 am, was patient with hotel security and got us on the road promptly. We made it to Chichén Itzá shortly after opening, before the vast majority of the crowds formed. He was a great guide, answered any questions we had and was very interactive. We felt very comfortable with Paul. We opted to skip the cenote experience (as we have already done similar experiences). It was great to have that flexibility. On the way to Valladolid, we stopped by a great authentic restaurant in Kaua. He showed us our lunch being prepared-handmade tortillas and pork. It was delicious. We shopped at Valladolid, ate too much, talked about our experiences and travels - and headed back. At the end of our journey, Paul sent us all the photos that he had been taking throughout the day - which was very much appreciated. I would definitely recommend Paul to my friends and family if they ever visited the area. Thanks, Paul!
