Att gå genom Pelourinhos kullerstensgator är en spännande upplevelse. Under denna 3 timmar långa vandring kommer du att leva och känna en blandning av kultur med det starka afrikanska inflytandet, som gör denna gamla stadsdel unik och en av "måste-se" platserna i världen.

Den historiska rundturen äger rum i den livliga gamla staden Pelourinho, som finns med på UNESCO:s världsarvslista sedan 1985. Turen börjar vid Terreiro de Jesus Square, ett av de 3 viktigaste torgen i den gamla staden. Det ligger 3 kyrkor, inklusive katedralen i Salvador, och en byggnad där var den första medicinska skolan i Brasilien. Vi rekommenderar ett besök i Domkyrkan och dess vackra utsmyckning och sakristia (Inträdesavgift ingår ej). På vägen ner till Pelourinho Square går vi genom kullerstensgatorna, ser hantverk, beundrar de färgglada koloniala husen, känner stadens rytm.
Pelourinho-torget är huvudtorget i den gamla staden och ett av Salvadors landmärken. Där ser vi The Mother of Rosary från Blacks Church, eller "The Blue Church", ett mycket viktigt monument från slaveriets period i Brasilien. Därifrån kan vi också se andra sidan av den gamla staden, som heter Carmo, med utsikt över 3 kyrkor. Vi går upp till Carmo Street, där vi ser N. Sr. dos Passos-kyrkan och dess berömda trappor. Vanligtvis är detta torg ett livligt område, med turister och lokalbefolkning, där du kan känna trummans rytm från den unika afro-reggaemusiken.
Därifrån går vi upp, alltid genom kullerstensgatorna, till 3:an. stora torget, Cross Square. Det finns en av de mest imponerande och rika kyrkorna i Brasilien, Saint Francis Church och Convent, med dess sprudlande guldbladiga barockinteriör och en veranda med de berömda portugisiska handmålade plattorna. Vi rekommenderar ett besök (entréavgift cirka 1 Euro). Det kommer att ges cirka 20 minuter gratis på detta torg, så du har tid att dricka ett uppfriskande kokosvatten om du vill, och njuta av området.
På vägen till Praça Tomé de Souza (Municipal Square) går vi genom Sé Square med det gamla biskopshuset, Sé Belvedere där det finns skulpturen Falling Breaking Cross och utsikt över bukten. När vi väl kommer till det kommunala torget njuter vi av ett känt landmärke i Salvador, utsikten från den nedre staden och All Saints Bay, vid Lacerda-hissen. Stadshuset, kommunfullmäktige från kolonialtiden och Rio Branco-palatset från början av 1900-talet finns alla där.
Det är ett berömt torg, specialiserat på karnevalstid. Vacker utsikt över All Saints Bay och lyxhotell.

Ana was a great guide and very knowledgeable. She took us around and even helped us see things we hadn’t planned!
We had very good experience with our tour guide Carlos through the city of Salvador. He was very nice, competent and speaks good English. He showed us the best places in the city and gave us very interesting facts about the Brazilian history.
Salvador is vibrant and alive with music, culture, and history! This tour gave us an in-depth view of the city’s Afro-Brazilian roots, colonial history, and stunning coastline.
I am suspicious of commenting because I love Salvador, I have a very strong connection with the historical and cultural heritage of this city, I am passionate about Sacred Art and the Bahian capital presents a vast number of temples in short space, characteristic this originating from Portugal.
Ana met us at the cruise terminal and quickly began describing the history and culture of Salvador. We took the elevator up to Pelourinho to see several several interesting spots including a craft market and several churches. She did a great job of keeping us informed along the way. We found Ana's tour to be a great value, much better than the 40-person excursions offered by our cruise.
Salvador is a very interesting city and worth exploring with a guide if it’s your first visit. Gabriela will provide lots of tidbits, advice and recommendations.
It was wonderful! Not only that we saw the most beautiful places in Salvador, but also the dedication in telling stories and knowledge about the history of the city, were really great at Ana! We also visited corners that you can only see if you know exactly about Salvador and its special corners and the culture. So, a clear recommendation and always back!
You need to take this tour with Ana! She is so well informed of the city, culture, and food. Oh my goodness. We did not expect much from this port city on our cruise but Ana opened our eyes and taste buds to the amazing city Salvador Bahia is. She knows the locals. She grew up here. You will get everything and more with Ana at your side. Don’t miss the St. Francis church! Or the coconut milk with lime!!! Can’t say enough about Ana and the city! ENJOY!!!
A unique experience to meet Salvador through the hands of a Bahiana in love with the city. Super guide, with a lot of historical knowledge that she manages to connect to the local culture. It was two days with Ana, a panoramic tour and another walking in the historic center, we took great advantage, ending with a delicious moqueca in a restaurant recommended by her.
Ana is simply amazing!!! We were 3 young couples from Germany in Salvador and decided to hire her for a tour. She knows really a looot. Explained the history, the culture, the food and much more not only through words but by showing and tasting... We had a great time, got to know a lot of nice areas and places, tried several typical foods during the tour such as Tapioca and Acarajé, ate in a great local restaurant and drank the famous cravinho, all by suggestion from her... We also watched the famous Capoeira, a mix of dance and martial arts... I can only recommend her. Her german is excellent, as well as her english!!! Go for it and be sure if a great experience!!
