Our Lady of Lebanon Shrine ligger på toppen av Jounieh-bergen med utsikt över den vackra stadsbukten. Den antika staden Byblos den rikaste arkeologiska platsen i Libanon med rekreationsområden, utomhuskaféer, utmärkt lokal mat och barer. Börja dagen med en upphämtning från din adress i Beirut och gå över till de förtrollande och mystiska Jeitta-grotorna, en kort bilresa från Beirut, och sedan når du Harissa med linbana. Helgedomen "Vår Fru av Libanon" har utsikt över City Bay. Nästa är Byblos eller Jbeil, den äldsta bebodda feniciska staden i Medelhavet där alfabetet föddes. Din guide som alltid finns där för dig kommer att berika din historiska information. En trevlig fika/lunchrast är valfritt. En genomsnittlig vägresa från Beirut till Jeita Grottos där du börjar ditt första besök genom att ta en linbana till den övre grottan. En smidig promenad inuti visar hur underbart naturen är med alla stalaktiter och stalagmiter som stiger här och där bildar dessa fantastiska former ... På väg ut kan du ta det turistiska tåget ner till den nedre grottan eller helt enkelt gå ner i mycket få minuter och njut av Dog River Valley scenerna tills du når andra ingången. Samma förfarande, men den här gången kommer kaptenen att träffa dig där och bjuda dig på en kort tur i en fiskebåt på sött kallt vatten. Tåg eller promenad mot vägen, där din privata guide kommer att vänta på dig vid utgången.
Byblos stad är det fönikiska alfabetets vagga. 22 bokstäver som leder till latinska alfabetet. Det är där du kan ha en underbar libanesisk lunch och fortsätt sedan för att besöka Medelhavets äldsta kustbevuxna stad, gamla souks, affärer, barer och den gamla föniciska hamnen.

On this trip we went to Lebanon, Israel and Jordan. We used 3 different tour companies and Dave´s was, by far, the best. We made several trips with them, some just by ourselves, others in a group. The guides were always pleasant and knowledgeable. They took us to, or recommended nice restaurants, good but not terrible expensive and certainly, no "tourist traps". Same things for the stores. They were not rushing us or excessively worrying about the clock. I will certainly recommend them to my friends and use them again, should the opportunity arise.

Lebanon is a really beautiful country, with many sites of interest that are worth visiting, in particular Byblos and Jeita but not only these. I would strongly recommend to contact Dave’s agency, Dave is a high professional and is able to give you a perfect and complete overview of the country and the sites to be visited, other than being a really nice person.

I cannot even begin to explain the love I now have for Lebanon! I have been to over 40 countries and yet I struggle to think of another country that has as much variety and diversity as Lebanon does! Firstly, the people are genuinely wonderful. Not one day passed where I wasn't greeted with a smile, a kind word and offers of help from literally everyone I encountered during my trip. Secondly, the wide range of opportunities for a fun day out in Lebanon is truly amazing. In one day, I explored the ancient sites in Byblos, walked down beautiful, cobbled lanes as I shopped in the souks, strolled along the stunning port, visited a pre-historic cave at Jeita and witnessed awe-inspiring views at Harissa. I selected to travel with Dave Lebanon Tours due to the many outstanding reviews I read and I wasn't disappointed! This has to be the most professional tour company around. My guide was exceptionally knowledgeable and will explain the history of Lebanon in general as well as go in to great detail at each site visited. He was also extremely flexible and very much just wanted me to be happy and enjoy my trip. The cost was extremely reasonable and it was helpful that the entry to all of the sites was included in the price (not all agencies offer this!) - it meant I could just relax and enjoy the day. I loved this tour so much that I booked another trip the next day and have already given Dave Lebanon Tours' details to several friends who also plan on visiting Lebanon in the near future. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the full day tour! All the sights and stops were great places to visit and experience but the Jeita Grotto in particular stands out from the rest, it really is a must see! Dave is an excellent tour guide, very knowledgeable, relaxed, polite and a great guy all round! He provided a first class experience, answered all our questions, allowed us time to go to the shops at all our stops and was kind enough to recommend, shops, areas and other places to go to and see during the rest of our stay in Beirut.
