Overall, the experience was poor. The guide was indeed friendly and professional, but I was left wanting a lot more when it came to the information he shared. The main reason why I booked the tour was to have a smooth experience with reaching the Giza Necropolis, having the help of someone to avoid the hustling of camel owners (I have heard from friends that they can be really annoying) and avoid the pain of going through internet pages to find information on the pyramids. The guide was indeed very helpful in the beginning when he advised me to buy a ticket to enter the smallest of the pyramids as it was significantly cheaper, and the experience would be roughly the same. He also was very helpful when one of the camel owners started hustling me to ride one of his camels. But that’s where the positive things end. He wrongly told me that I can enter either the second or the third pyramid when the truth is that you can enter the first or the third one he failed to explain that the out layer of the pyramids was limestone, and was used as a casing, instead he was insisting that it was used as a cement, which is wrong on both an engineering and a historic meaning. I showed him two different photos of the same stone that was inside the third pyramid and asked about the markings and he gave me two different answers. He repeatedly mixed up the chronological order of the pyramids, insisting that the third one was built first and that it was for the grandfather of the linearity. Which is wrong. When I asked him, what is Khufu known as in the rest of the world (because I couldn’t remember) he said that he’s only known as Khufu when the actual answer is Cheops. When I asked him, why is a big part of the north façade of the third pyramid missing he said that they tried to open an entrance. That is wrong as at some point in the 12th century they tried to dismantle the pyramid, but then they stopped as it was very laborious. Overall, I was quite dissatisfied to realize that he was almost making things up. The tour duration was very short, less than three hours, and all we did was to take the shuttle bus from pyramid to pyramid, spend 10 minutes at each and then go to the Sphinx. And at the end of the tour, I told him that I want to stay in the Giza Necropolis and he asked me to tip the driver. I gave him 100 Egyptian pounds for him and the same for the driver as I was not happy with the service provided, and I was contemplating whether I should tip him at all or not. When he saw the money he tried to explain how tourists don’t understand the value of the Egyptian pound, and that 100 pounds are equivalent only to 2 dollars. When I explained back that I fully understand that, but I didn’t have any cash on me and if I tipped him more, that would leave me with practically no money he asked if I had dollars with me, which I didn’t. I ended up doing the full tour again from the start by myself, reading the signs and asking ChatGPT for each pyramid and the Sphinx something that helped me learn and understand more and actually enjoy the tour. I also had more time to walk around the great pyramid and understand that there are more structures around it (apart from the obvious smaller pyramids). Overall, I am dissatisfied with the service provided, and if I knew I wouldn’t have booked.
We all had an amazing time at the Pyramids! Ahmed hamdy was the perfect guide, told us alot about the history of the Pyramids and took us to an authentic Egyptian restaurant for some lovely koshary. A day we will never forgot! Felt very comfortable at all times and never had any problems. Would highly recommend Ahmed to be your guide! Thankyou for an absolute amazing day we will never forget! 😁
We had a fantastic tour guided by Mohammed Hamida and driven by Foly. We visited the pyramids of Giza which in itself was an incredible experience made better by the expertise of Mohammed who had been an archeologist on the site for many years it was truly wonderful to hear his knowledge and passion for Ancient Egypt. We would recommend this tour to anyone and want to thank Emo Tours for such an amazing tour!
This was a wonderful and quick way to see the pyramids and the sphinx if you are short on time. Our guide was prompt and extremely knowledgable.
I booked this tour to avoid transportation issues after a previous scam with an Uber driver. Unfortunately, this tour was also a negative experience. The guide was friendly at first. However, once we arrived at the pyramids, she brought me to her friend who owns camels. What we were doing and the cost were never explained. I had already mentioned that I didn’t want to ride, but the next thing I knew I was being asked to get on a camel. Only after the ride did I learn I was being charged 1,400 LE ($30), which felt unexpected and overpriced. Later, the guide offered to take me inside a “small pyramid” for $13, saying she knew the security and I needed to pay cash. I entered one of the satellite pyramids near the Great Pyramid, while she stayed outside so she can “pay”. Inside, security confirmed that entry to this pyramid is free, and I observed other visitors entering without paying. When I was dropped off at my hotel, I paid the $13 and gave a tip. Before leaving, she asked for additional money, first claiming the satellite pyramid cost $30, and then mentioning the camel ride again despite having already seen me pay for it. When I explained that the satellite pyramid is free and that I had already paid for the camel, she dropped the subject and left. Booking a tour is supposed to protect travelers from situations like this, not create them. While the guide appeared friendly, the experience left me feeling misled and uncomfortable. I do not recommend this tour.
The driver was very nice, he seemed to be in a rush at the beginning, but then everything went well. He wanted to bring me to some shops at the end, and I could have avoided it
Pyramids were great but tour experience was just ok. More focused on trying to get you to buy junk from their preferred vendors. Guide was ok but would probably have been better off just ubering there and exploring on my own.
Emo Tours Egypt Marwa Galal Private Tour To Giza Pyramids and Sphinx I had an absolutely wonderful experience visiting the pyramids, thanks to my amazing guide. From the moment we met, she was warm, friendly, and professional. Her English was excellent, making everything so easy to follow and understand. She shared so much fascinating information about the history, culture, and significance of the pyramids — it was clear she really knows and loves what she does. What impressed me most was how patient and accommodating she was throughout the tour. She always made sure I was comfortable, took the time to answer all my questions in detail, and never rushed me. She also had a great sense of timing, knowing the best spots for photos and the perfect moments to avoid the crowds. Her passion for Egyptian history truly brought the whole experience to life. It didn’t feel like just a tour — it felt like walking through history with a friend who genuinely cared about making the day special. I left with a much deeper appreciation for the pyramids and the people who built them. I would highly recommend her to anyone visiting — she made the entire experience unforgettable. Thank you so much for being such a knowledgeable, kind, and exceptional guide!
I had a private tour of the Pyramids with Rania, and it was one of the best travel experiences I’ve ever had. Rania was incredibly kind, professional, and knowledgeable. She made me feel completely at ease and brought so much depth to the history. It was like exploring with a friend who’s also an expert. George, our driver, was fantastic too. Calm, friendly, and reliable. The two of them made a perfect team. Thank you, Rania and George! I couldn’t have asked for a better way to experience the Pyramids. Highly recommend!
Excellent Service from Fouli driver to the Giza Pyramids, very attentive and friendly, recommend it or.
