We wanted to understand the history of the Impressionists and Montmartre. Ana was knowledgeable and a wonderful storyteller. She brought it all to life. As we walked the streets, we felt as if we could go back in time. She offered many insights that put things into perspective and fired our imaginations at the same time. Because she is an artist herself, her sensibilities and integrity added to the entire experience.
Welly was truly informative, but not overloading us with information. He was polite, funny, answered our many questions and engaged in conversation. He was able to show us parts of Montmarte that we never would have found on our own. It was our favorite part of our trip and wish we would have booked more tours with him for a true Parisian experience.
Excellent guide! Welly was the perfect host . Even on a cold and chilly day we had a great time. Welly was very accommodating and made stops for us to try out local cafés. I would definitely recommend.
The Paris Saint-Oeun flea market can be overwhelming! In fact, my husband and I have bern there many times. Our tour with Lucien made all the difference! He’s smart and interesting as well as flexible. He helped us find a beautiful, hand-carved statue of the Virgin Mary … even though his speciality is a market overview rather than finding specific items.
Great tour. I wouldn’t have wanted to try exploring the market without Lucien’s historical knowledge and expert guidance. We saw all the things we wanted to see and places we wouldn’t have found on our own in half the time it would have taken us if we had to figure it out for ourselves.
Our family of four (two adults, two teens) had a wonderful experience on our tour with Ana. She was warm, knowledgeable and thorough. She kept the tour going at a good pace, shared insights into many of the people buried in Pere Lachaise, both well known and obscure, and also shared a great deal of fascinating knowledge about the history of the cemetery itself. We would all highly recommend a tour with Ana!
Maxime (our guide) had a perfect approach with our family, being flexible and versatile, extremely kind and gentle. Furthermore, the information and knowledge he brought, as well as the places he took us, were pitoresque, interesting and very edifying! (History of the city, of the neighborhood, of arts etc.). We will definitely seek Maxime for more experiences on our next visit to Paris.
We booked our Montmartre tour with Max on a rainy and gloomy winter day. Max was a great sport, led us through hidden alleys and passageways. We stopped to warm up in churches and coffee shop. The area is spectacular and it helped to have a knowledgeable guide to discover gems off the beaten path. Maxime is a history and art buff, and will gladly engage in philosophical and cultural discussions. Book him if these subjects resonate with you too. He sent us off with suggestions for further discoveries and restaurant recommendations.
Nella gave us an artistic tour of Montmatre and it was extremely fascinating. She is very personable and engaging. We had a fun few hours together learning and seeing so much. Do not hesitate to book a tour with her. The price-value of all With Locals tours in Paris are very very expensive compared to others I have taken in Italy and Spain but not Nella’s fault.
Welly was excellent. Booked last minute and he customized the best afternoon! It couldn’t have been better except for the weather (but in December who can complain?) I would not hesitate to recommend Welly and WithLocals. Worth every penny.
