Hi there, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. First and foremost, we are glad to hear that everyone is safe following this incident. It also serves as an important reminder that, although the float experience is generally relaxing and peaceful, guests must remain attentive and watch carefully for obstacles throughout their journey. The Bow River is a natural and dynamic environment. Water levels, current speed, and river conditions can change with seasonal mountain runoff, rainfall, and upstream water management. As with any natural river, guests must remain alert for obstacles such as rocks, sandbars, shoreline hazards, and bridge pillars, and take appropriate action to avoid them. Lazy Day has been providing self-guided rafting experiences on the Bow River since 2007. For our six-person rafts, we normally provide two steering paddles so that the designated captains can effectively guide and maneuver the raft. This approach also helps reduce unnecessary clutter inside the boat and minimizes the risk of passengers accidentally striking one another with additional paddles in close quarters. We are always happy to provide extra paddles upon request. In most cases, however, the additional paddles are not required for effective navigation and can make movement within the raft more difficult. We appreciate you bringing your concerns to our attention and will continue reviewing how we communicate paddling responsibilities, river hazards, and equipment options to our guests before they launch.
