På denna turné med en privat guide kommer du att lära känna verkstaden och målarens sista hus Joaquín Sorolla, tillsammans med sina tillfälliga utställningar. Sorollamuseet har också de viktigaste verken av konstnären, indelade i olika kategorier. Det är ett av de vackraste och hemtrevligaste museerna i Madrid, samt ett av de bäst bevarade husen i Europa. Byggnaden omvandlades till ett museum efter hans änkas död. Designad av Enrique María Repullés, förklarades den som en tillgång av kulturellt intresse 1962. Huvudrummen är fortfarande möblerade som de var under konstnärens livstid, inklusive Sorollas stora, väl upplysta ateljé, där väggarna kantas av hans dukar. Övriga rum används som gallerier för att visa Sorollas målningar, medan rummen ovan är ett galleri för specialutställningar. Missa inte detta unika hörn av Madrid!

Unfortunately the Madrid house museum is closed for restoration but if you want to see the works of this painter you can come to Valencia where his beautiful paintings are exhibited in an exhibition set up by the "Banking Foundation" that I visited today. They are expected to return to Madrid in late April 2026.

The tour guide cancelled via email the night before the tour. I saw the cancellation at midnight and was able to buy tickets direct from the venue. The audio guide available there was excellent. You don't need a guide for this museum.

Carla was an excellent guide, she knew so much about Sorolla. The house is beautiful and the paintings and sculptures were wonderful. It was also great to see how the family lived in the house, the old photos etc were so interesting.

Knowledgeable and friendly guide . Beautiful gem of a museum . Quite small but great if you love the work of Sorolla. Well worth a visit.

Was there on Tuesday 05/04: closed floor without explanation, part of the promised works not present or not visible (upstairs?). Coming from Bordeaux on purpose, and although the place is superb, I was disappointed.
