⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Mount Fuji Experience with Fabi Our family—my wife Kirsten, my son Oliver, and I—had an absolutely incredible day exploring Mount Fuji with Fabi. Having already visited Mount Fuji once before, we expected a similar experience, but Fabi went above and beyond by completely rearranging the itinerary to show us a side of the region we had never seen. That thoughtful gesture alone made this tour feel truly personal. Instead of repeating the typical route, Fabi took us to the breathtaking Arakurayama Sengen Park, where we enjoyed one of the most iconic and beautiful views of Mount Fuji. We also visited the peaceful shores of Lake Kawaguchiko at Oishi Park, explored a traditional Japanese village, and finished the day at the serene Kitaguchi Shrine. Every stop was perfectly timed, never rushed, and filled with fascinating history and local insight. What made the experience exceptional was Fabi. He was knowledgeable, friendly, flexible, and genuinely invested in making sure we had the best possible day. It never felt like we were simply checking off tourist attractions—it felt like we were being shown Japan by someone who truly loves sharing it with others. If you’re considering a Mount Fuji tour, ask for Fabi if you can. Whether it’s your first visit or your second, he’ll make it feel like a once-in-a-lifetime experience. This was easily one of the highlights of our entire trip to Japan, and we couldn’t recommend Fabi more highly.

Our guide, Ai, was terrific. She picked us up at our hotel, drove us to the Chureito Pagoda, where we climbed the 400+ steps and enjoyed beautiful early morning views of Mount Fuji. Then, we headed to Lake Kawaguchi, a pretty lake near the mountain. We enjoyed a speed boat ride with great views of Fuji and the surrounding mountains. From there, we made a stop at the Mount Fuji Museum, and then headed to Oshino Hakkai with its set of ponds fed by snow melt from the mountains. We enjoyed lunch there and some shopping as well before heading back to Tokyo.

Even though the weather didn't cooperate and we couldn't see Mt. Fuji, our guide Haan made this tour absolutely unforgettable! Because of the bad weather, Haan quickly adjusted and customized our itinerary on the fly so we could still have an amazing day. He is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time. Fabi was an outstanding tour guide for our full-day Fuji and Hakone adventure. He was prompt, pleasant, and incredibly accommodating to everything we wanted to do. He picked us up right on time at our hotel in a comfortable, clean car, and from that moment on the day felt relaxed and well-organized. We began at Oishi Park, where we enjoyed ice cream while walking through the beautiful flower gardens. The views of Mt. Fuji were fantastic. Fabi then took us to the boat launch at Kawaguchi Lake for a fun and exciting speedboat ride — a real highlight! Lunch at a local udon restaurant was delicious and satisfying. Later we tackled the hike up to the Chureito Pagoda (near Tori Arakura in Fujiyoshida town). It was a good climb, but the views at the top made it completely worth it. In the afternoon we continued with the ropeway from Souzan Station through the volcanic landscape of Owakudani to Togendai Station at Ashi Lake. Fabi kept everything flowing smoothly and gave us just the right amount of time at each spot. We finished the day at Tokyo Tower, which was a perfect way to end our adventure with sweeping city views. Fabi’s friendly personality, local knowledge, and willingness to adjust to our pace made the entire day feel personal and stress-free. Abdul was our guide and did a fantastic job. He suggested we leave Tokyo at 5:30am and I’m glad we did. We beat the traffic and also the crowds at each stop so I would definitely recommend leaving early to maximize your time on your tour. I traveled with my Wife (both 42), 2 kids (13 & 8) and my mom who is 68. We were all able to do everything on the tour very comfortably and Abdul’s 7 passenger van and safe driving made us all comfortable. On this trip we stopped at: A Pagoda (short 400 step climb) with a great view of Mt. Fuji and a nice temple at the bottom. You just pay $1,000 Yen to park. Next we stopped at a Mt Fuji Village with some Fuji runoff you can drink from and opportunities to buy fresh fruit and souvenirs. After that we stopped at a beautiful shrine built entirely of Redwood surrounded by a forest of 1,000 year old trees. This is at the base of Mt Fuji where hikers begin their climb. The most fun thing we did was stop by Mt Fuji’s 2nd largest lake. We got on a private ski boat ($65 USD) and took a 20 minute tour of the lake with great views of Mt Fuji. We had so much fun on that we did that twice. The boat had a little 115 hp outboard motor on it and got the 5 of us around the lake easily at about 25mph. Finally we stopped by a flower garden with a gift shop inside. I would have skipped this but some people seemed to like it. The gift shop there is definitely a tourist trap. We also got lucky getting a clear day with a nice view of the mountain which is only visible 80-100 days per year. Even with an overcast day I would still do it all over again, the view was just the icing on top. So definitely ask for Abdul and take off early to beat the traffic and the crowds.

She was extremely professional and helpful throughout the entire tour, anticipating our needs before we even had to ask and making sure every moment was both informative and enjoyable. He was completely captivated by the views of Mount Fuji and the charm of Hakone, and Ai made a real effort to keep him engaged and excited every step of the way.
