Constanta, grundat som en koloni för nästan 2600 år sedan, är den äldsta intygade staden i Rumänien, den största hamnen vid Svarta havet (tredje största i Europa) och också den fjärde största staden i Rumänien med sina 400 000 invånare. Constanta grundades av grekerna som en hamn på Svartahavskusten för handel med inlandsfolk och kallades Tomis (VI: e f.Kr.). Staden döptes senare efter Constantina, systerdotter av Konstantin den stora (274-337). Det var fortfarande en blomstrande hamnstad på 1000- och 1100-talet och handlade med det bysantinska riket och staden Genua.

Alex was an outstanding guide. He was knowledgeable, humorous, and liked to talk. He took us to all of the great places in the city and the area. We had a very nice lunch near to seashore. Traffic into Bucharest was a bit heavy. i would highly recommend this tour.
This trip was the absolute highlight of my tourist adventures in Bucharest. The driver (Octavian) was fantastic & I learned so much about the area’s history and its present. It was a day very well spent with a guide who’s at the top of the list of many trip leaders I have experienced traveling over the years. I highly recommend this tour, for anyone seeking a day’s cultural, historical and scenic experience. You cannot go wrong.

Radu was an excellent host! He is well informed about Constanta’s history and culture! I am a history geek! So, I was intrigued by Radu’s historical knowledge of Constanta! The Black Sea view was so blissful to my eyes! I highly recommend this trip!
