Bara ni två, på er egen privata rundtur i en öppen cabriolet, besök den vackra medeltida staden Obidos. Du kommer att ha en möjlighet att undra över de smala gatorna och bläddra i butikerna. Du kan gå längs väggarna med fantastisk utsikt över den omgivande landsbygden och avsluta ditt besök genom att dricka traditionell Ginjinha de Óbidos (surkörsbärsbrännvin), som kan avnjutas på olika ställen, helst drickas ur en liten chokladkopp. Efter att ha gått på Obidos gator kan du stanna kvar där för lunch, ELLER, med taket nere, köra ut till Obidos-lagunen och luncha vid den vackra stranden Foz de Arelho. Njut av en lunch på ett av de många kaféerna och promenera på sandstränderna. När lunchen är över kör vi till staden Mafra med dess magnifika palats. Tillbringa tid med att vandra och vara vördnadsfull över dess överflöd innan du njuter av en kaffe i staden. Sedan är det dags att återvända till ditt boende i Lissabon eller Cascais/SIntra via kustvägen.

Den medeltida staden Óbidos är en av de mest pittoreska och välbevarade i Portugal. Du hittar ett välbevarat slott innanför murarna och en labyrint av gator och vita hus som är en fröjd att strosa runt. Santa Marias huvudkyrka, Misericórdia-kyrkan, São Pedro-kyrkan, pillaren och, bortom murarna, akvedukten och den runda helgedomen Senhor Jesus da Pedra, är bara några av de landmärken du kan besöka. Det lokala köket har bouillabaisse gjord på fisk från Óbidos-lagunen, som kommer att smaka ännu bättre om den åtföljs av vinerna från regionen Oeste. En annan attraktion är den berömda Ginjinha de Óbidos (surkörsbärsbrännvin), som kan avnjutas på olika ställen, gärna dricka ur en liten chokladkopp.
Vid sammanflödet mellan Óbidos-lagunen och havet, kastar Foz do Arelho Beach upp valet mellan två mycket olika typer av strand. Å ena sidan lagunen, en plats med stor naturlig skönhet med sina stränder täckta av tjock vegetation och sitt milda vatten perfekt för barn och vindsurfing, som drar nytta av den bris som normalt blåser här. På andra sidan, det öppna havet, grovt men utan några betydande underströmmar som skapar utmärkta surfförhållanden med en EU-blå flagga som vittnar om kvaliteten på vattnet utanför denna strand.
Den stora prakten av den monumentala arkitektoniska utformningen av slottet, klostret och basilikan i Mafra vittnar om överflöd av kung João V:s hov. Palatset är kungafamiljens sommarresidens och innehåller olika samlingar med verk av främst portugisiska, italienska och franska konstnärer som arbetar på kunglig ordning, inklusive barockmålning och skulptur, religiösa klädesplagg och ornament och väggmålningar av ledande portugisiska konstnärer Basilikan rymmer en uppsättning av sex orglar, unika över hela världen och de kommer förutom två klockspel på totalt 114 klockor - 57 i varje torn. Tillverkade i Antwerpen på 1700-talet, de är också de största i sitt slag över hela världen.

We had such a great experience last year with Lain, that we returned again this year! Best way to start our vacation - pick up day one with Lain for a tour. We enjoyed Obidos this time around and drop off in Sintra at the end of the day. Another wonderful experience and highly recommended.

However, it was everything in between that was very special. Iain personalized our experience to ensure we would maximize our time with what we would enjoy most. We went to Óbidos, Foz de Arelho and Buddha Eden Gardens. Iain was the perfect guide for us. Explained all about each place and answered any questions. Really lovely guy and perfect guide. Iain picked us up from our hotel at the time agreed and our adventure began. From start to finish, it was what we wanted and so much more. Had a coffee stop in Óbidos, lunch in Foz de Arelho and Iain allowed us to explore Buddha Eden Gardens together. Has given us some great ideas for future trips and I will definitely return and Iain I hope will be free on our dates to help us explore more of the beauty Portugal has to offer. Ian was a delightful and patient companion as we toured Obidos, the Silver Coast and Mafra. He allowed us to set the pace, and encouraged us to take coffee breaks, to wander in and out of shops and churches. We had a delightful lunch at a restaurant facing the lagoon and ocean on the silver coast, and he gave us plenty of time to visit the palace and basilica at Mafra. The entire day was splendid!

An excellent experience travelling the area with Iain. He has an excellent local knowledge and speaks the language well. His tours are flexible and can be designed to personal requirements. Thoroughly recommended and he also knows great places to eat, which suited us fine!

Went on a full day tour from Lisbon. It was an exciting trip and I would highly recommend Iain Bendrey from portugaltours4two.com. We spent a few amazing hours at the medieval town of Obidos before being driven in a convertible along the western coast stopping at Boca da Inferno, Guincho, Cabo da Roca, Praia Grande e Azenhas do Mar, Cascais and returning to Lisbon. Besides the feeling of being in a walled-up medieval town with a castle, Obidos certainly has many interesting little shops to try out their amazing Ginja de Obidos (cherry liquor) and freshly squeezed orange juice. Iain showed us many natural hidden gems along the coastal route and that made the trip all the more worthwhile. The picturesque beauty of nature along the route was breathtaking. Do capture the best of Portugal with Iain as he patiently drives you on a safe journey and takes you to the best spots to admire.
