Lagunen Ria Formosa, som ligger i Algarve, i södra Portugal, är ett system med barriäröar som kommunicerar med havet genom sex inlopp. Fem av dessa inlopp är naturliga och har rörlighet. Den sjätte är en konstgjord inlopp som öppnades i syfte att möjliggöra enklare åtkomst till Faro hamn. Inom Ria Formosa-systemet kan olika och ibland antagonistiska användningar hittas. En del av systemet är en naturpark men Ria Formosa spelar också en viktig roll i regionens ekonomi. Utöver turistanvändningen stöder systemet också andra ekonomiska aktiviteter som skaldjursfarmar (inklusive skörd av matta skal) och hamnen i Faro. Ria Formosa är också en utsedd naturpark på över 170 km² och en stoppplats för hundratals olika fåglar under migrationsperioderna på våren och hösten.
Ilha Deserta (även känd som Ilha da Barreta) är en ö nära Faro. Bokstavligen betyder Ilha Deserta öknen. Detta beskriver ganska mycket ön, eftersom det inte finns några människor som bor på denna ö permanent. Ön är känd för sin vackra strand och orörda natur. Det är verkligen ett paradis i Algarve.
Ilha do Farol är en av barriäröarna som bildar Ria Formosa. Denna ö som tidigare var en fiskarby, idag är en liten turistisk plats där du kan hitta ett par barer och restauranger för att ta en drink eller en full måltid.

This was our favourite part of our trip to Portugal. Ana was an absolute star hostess, and Pedro was great as well! We 100% recommend doing the full day. You can bring your own food and drink, you just can’t bring any red wine with you.

We totally enjoyed our private yacht half day excursion!! We our traveling friends of 8 and wouldn't change a thing, iSea staff (Bruno) and the catamaran crew ( Rodrigo, Pedro, and Annie) made us feel very welcomed. Absolutely the best experience ever, the catamaran easily accommodated our group. Total enjoyment!!

Annie our hostess and Pedro our captain were so friendly and knowledgeable about the areas we sailed to. We anchored and were able to swim to the beach some used paddle boards which were supplied. Great value for money and the best day spent with friends. Highly recommended
