Five stars out of Five. But I would have given them an extra star just for making me feel special on my birthday. The art of Japanese calligraphy is beautiful, fascinating, and intriguing. Watching them write the symbols was pure art. The family interaction and dynamics were special. They were more than co-workers and family, they were friends. They had so much patience to put up with me. I had no clue and did not know what I was doing. I have no artistic talent, but they guided me through drawing the symbols step by step; holding my hands and providing me with encouragement. I’ve already shared this experience with friends and family and told them this is a must when they visit Tokyo. The price was more than reasonable and worth every yen/dollar? Thanks for providing me with such a wonderful experience with my daughter and your family.
I had such a wonderful experience at Japanese Art & Craft Fujiiro Studio in Asakusa. The Art Calligraphy workshop was a relaxing and meaningful way to learn about a traditional part of Japanese culture. 先生 explained the basic brush techniques in a way that was easy to follow, even as a complete beginner. I chose to write 幸福 (Kōfuku), meaning “happiness,” and it made the experience feel even more personal. It was rewarding to create something with my own hands and take it home as a hanging scroll.

Can’t say enough good things about this experience!! From the moment they meet you they make you feel at home. They are extremely attentive and nice. The calligraphy master was unbelievable: so much more than just writing! We can’t stop talking about it, especially the member of the group who was not interested when we were booking it.
