Majestic Mount Kilimanjaro är Tanzanias imponerande landmärke men du behöver inte bestiga det för att uppleva dess fulla skönhet och den fängslande terrängen som omger det. Den här turen är också mycket unik eftersom det är en Kilimanjaro-dagstur som ger dig möjligheten att klättra uppför den första etappen av den berömda Marangu-rutten, genom regnskogen som kvittrar med fågelliv och småpratande, nyfikna blåa apor. Från Marangu Gate (1 800 m/5 905 fot) till Mandara Hut (2 743 m/9 000 fot) Höjdökning: 915 meter, 3 000 fot. Lämna livliga, färgstarka Moshi tidigt för att köra till Marangu-porten, tröskeln till den magnifika Kilimanjaro. Det är bara en timmes bilresa, men du kommer att fascineras av landsbygden - kaffe- och bananplantager, genom den pittoreska byn Marangu, med Kilimanjaro som reser sig majestätiskt framför dig. Vi registrerar dig vid Marangu-porten och sedan börjar ditt äventyr. Till en början är den kantade leden smal när du vandrar genom regnskogen. Det är frodigt och dimmigt, med träden prydda med mossa. Du kommer också att möta trötta vandrare som stiger ner från toppen. Ge dem en high five för ansträngning. Glöm inte din kamera! Efter att ha solat dig i det vackra, vandrar du tillbaka ner till Marangu-porten där vårt fordon väntar på dig för att köra dig, trött men glad, tillbaka till Moshi. Denna Kilimanjaro-dagvandring passar de flesta, även om du är lite olämplig!

I wasnt ready for a summit climb but i didnt want to miss the opportunity of going up the Kilimanjaro. the day hike with Alpha turned out to be the perfect solution. It was so much fun all the way up and back down. Its actually not a difficult hike and I can see why its called the coca cola but i heard its starts getting more challenging from the ascent to the second base camp. We were picked up in a mini van from our hotel at 06.30 and then drove to the gate. After getting a tour of the main office area of the national park which provides information on the mountain and its climbing history, we started our hike. Some people make it in 7 hours return others in 8 hours. During this hike you will pass different vegetations, you have chances of seeing the blue monkeys and some bird life. I was fortunate enough to see an animal i didnt know existed the hyrax. Saw the little fellow twice looking at me from a tree trunk. You also can visit the crater and the waterfall all this depending on your pace as the park closes at 18.00. I can totally recommend this zrip with Alpha
