Jaisalmers fort är ett levande urbant centrum, med cirka 3000 personer bosatta inom dess murar. Det är honungskamrat med smala slingriga körfält, fodrade med hus och tempel - tillsammans med ett stort antal hantverksbutiker, pensionat och restauranger. Du går in i fortet från öster, nära Gopa Chowk, och passerar genom fyra massiva grindar på sicksackvägen till den övre delen. Den sista porten öppnas till torget som utgör fortets centrum, Dashera Chowk.
Denna vackra haveli ligger i hjärtat av staden i små körfält. Privatägd 1800-talstillhåll känd för utsmyckade exteriöra sniderier och unik arkitektur.
Den största fisken i dammet Haveli (traditionellt, utsmyckat dekorerat bostad) är Patwa-ki-Haveli, som tornar över en smal körfält, dess invecklade stenhuggar som honungfärgade spetsar. Uppdelat i fem delar byggdes det mellan 1800 och 1860 av fem Jain-bröder som gjorde sina förmögenheter i brokad och smycken. Allt är mycket imponerande från utsidan; den första av de fem avsnitten, det privata Kothari's Patwa-ki-Haveli-museet, framkallar dock riktigt livet från 1800-talet och är det enda värt att betala inträde för. Andra avsnitt inkluderar två i stort sett tomma statliga "museer" och två privata sektioner som innehåller butiker.
Ett framstående landmärke i denna spektakulära arvstad är Mandir Palace, som hade varit bostad för styrarna i Jaisalmer i mer än två århundraden. Mandir Palace är ett utsökt snidet arkitektoniskt underverk av utsmyckade balkonger, taktak och delikat snidade skärmar som representerar en hög punkt i lokalt hantverk i sin finaste och renaste form. En märkbar funktion i Mandir Palace är dess torn som kallas 'Badal Vilas', som sticker ut som den högsta strukturen nedanför Hill-Top City Fort.
Sjön Gadi Sagar ligger söder om staden Jaisalmer. Gadi Sagar, en regnvattensjö i Jaisalmer, ligger mitt i lugna och svala omgivningar. Denna sylvan sjö är omgiven av otaliga tempel och heliga helgedomar. Vattnet i denna sjö är kristallklart. Vattensporter som båtliv kan göras i denna sjö. Det har vattenförsörjningen i hela staden. Många flyttfåglar kan ses flockas runt sjön. Det finns också en berömd Krishna-tempel byggd ovanpå den gula sandstenporten.

Great city tour experience in Jaisalmer! Everything was well organized and perfect for exploring many highlights in a short time. We visited the Golden Fort, Jain Temple, Patwon Ki Haveli, Gadisagar Lake, and ended with a beautiful sunset—it was a really nice flow throughout the day. The car was comfortable with AC, and hotel pickup/drop-off made everything easy and convenient. I also enjoyed the shopping part—lots of interesting local items like silver jewelry, handicrafts, and textiles. Overall, a very enjoyable and hassle-free tour. Highly recommended if you want to see the best of Jaisalmer in one day!
Our guide Mr NAND kishore ji was very knowledgeable about the history and culture of jaiselmer. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour and nuggets of history/ information all along our tour. Highly recommend it! Thank you Kamal for organising everything for us

Fantastic experience. Kamal took care of every detail from picking me up to dropping me off on the bus back. Padam was my Guide and was excellent. I explain everything in detail and take myself to local places. I was not taken anywhere for “tourists” where you are forced to shop. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Travelled to Jaisalmer with DIH. It is a Rajasthan based travel solution provider company. They helped me in planning, booking, and sight scenes in Jaisalmer. Suresh ji from DIH was our guide for this Jodhpur tour. It was a 3-day trip including all scenic spots of Jodhpur. Our stay arrangement was done by DIH along with airport pick and drop. Suresh ji made us feel quite comfortable. He was caring and friendly and knew the place in and out. The best part was that he managed the entire day so well that we had nothing to worry and just enjoy the places and food. He took us to various food joints in old city of Jodhpur which I don’t think I would be able to explore alone. I am thankful to DIH for such great experience.

I visited Jaipur with some of my friends in Jan 2023. Jaipur has always been my favourite destination. DIH helped me to cover most offbeat destinations in the city. I had specific choices in the trip including monuments, shopping, local food, wildlife spots in the city. So, I requested for a guide also for the trip. Sher Singh, a local from Jaipur was our guide for these 4 days trip in Jaipur. Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing, monkey temple, panna meena ka kund, Gandhi bazar, elephant camp were major highlights of our trip. I had a great experience taking DIH’s services. Cant wait to travel with them next to Udaipur.
